We still have not heard your ideas to replace the ACA my right wing friends. Is keeping 30 million Americans from health care the best you can do? That sounds like a loser to me and Newt also from what he said at the GOP meeting a few weeks ago. Remember social security was not that popular at first until people saw what good it did. Is the same thing going to happen with the ACA? I think conservatives are afraid of just that yet saying no is the only idea they seem to have.

Actually, the GOP submitted a plethora of ideas while the DNC was busy strong-arming them out of the discussion.

Heh, you're a bit behind on the issue. First you'll have to show that Obamacare is just as good if not better for the vast majority who were already insured. It's not working out that way thus far.

85% of the population has insurance coverage. A less than 1% surtax on their policies could have easily paid for the other 15% that don't.

None of them any good my friend. They all seemed to be attacking trial lawers and making the rich richer. None of those ideas adressed the tens of millions of uninsured Americans.

How would you know? You don't even know what they were.

I have an idea. We have too many homeless people, so let's just make it illegal to be homeless!

I would think all those House votes your side cries about haven't gotten the message through. Let me put it as clearly as possible--they want to replace it with NOTHING which in this case is the better plan.

One of them was insurance exchanges and required purchase of insurance. It was a conservative idea touted by Gingrich, and of course implemented in Romneycare.

Hey wait, that's what Obamacare does!

So conservatives are against Obamacare even though it's based on a conservative idea, propounded by an arch conservative politician and put into effect by a conservative governor.

It's almost as if conservatives are totally dishonest.

Why don't you analyze your own comment. It's not universal healthcare that they oppose. It's the ridiculous job killing and freedom infringing aspects of obamacare they oppose. Universal healthcare could have been achieved without them.

Look at the tea party spin, spin, spin.

It's all they got.

Insurance exchanges and required purchase of private insurance is a CONSERVATIVE policy, touted by Gingrich for years, promoted by rightwing think tanks, and implemented by a conservative governor.

Now, spin!

Forcing healthy people to buy insurance is not, among other things. There's so much job killing crap in that bill, I'm not surprised the socialists and communists love it so much.

No one is "keeping people from health care." Every single citizen is absolutely free to purchase their own policy, or choose one that a respectable employer will offer.

If they can't afford their own policy, or do not choose a policy from their employer, that's their fault. Accept the failure. If their employer does not offer a policy, then go find an employer that does. If they do not, then that's their fault. Accept the failure.

False premise #1 - no alternatives have been provided for Obamacare. In fact, scores of options, alternatives, and a host of changes to the existing system have been around for a long time.

False premise #2 - The GOP favors keeping 30 million Americans from healthcare. Well that's just silly; it is nothing more than a left-wing meme. No one has proposed such nonsense and no one supports it.

False premise #3 - Obamacare is comparable to Social Security. I don't even know where to begin with this - suffice it to say SS has proven itself insolvent and unsustainable (not to mention thoroughly unconstitutional). In those senses anyway are they comparable.

False premise #4 - Saying "no" is the only idea conservatives have. See false premise #1.

Then lets fix it. The right needs to stop bitching and give some real ideas other than defending big pharm and the doctors lobby.

You sir are wrong. The right wing hates socialism so bad it has made them blind. The cost of medicene has became too high and that is fact. 30 million people do not have healthcare and that is fact and they are crowding our emergency rooms and we pay their bill anyway. The right needs to start working with the Dem's to fix the ACA because my friend it is here to stay. Once people start getting it they are giong to be for it just like the VA,medicare, medicade and social security and the right knows this. That is why they are fighting so hard now because they know it is their last chance.

Sorry my friend. That selfish crap is not going to stand. This everybody for themself **** the right preaches is now a minority opinion. The cost of health care has insured that.Right wingers=selfish jerks.

Right, so the unselfish demand others take care of them. Left wingers=helpless jerks

Stop the selfish BS. Your opinion is a minority opinion in Cal and the west coast for sure. The right wing is doomed and selfishness is one of the top reasons. Romney calling 47% losers and takers lost him the election. What did that statement say? Right wing selfishness. It is a loser position and I think you know it.

LOL. How can it be a loser position when we have what you want? Dang, Progs can't even figure out what selfish is.

no silly, they weren't free to purchase their own policy. Ins companies would turn them down for pre existing conditions. routinely.

well Ed, you're sorta right. It seems that once President Obama accepted the conservative mandate cons couldn't come up with enough ideas fast enough. The problem is that their "ideas"

1 cost more than Obamacare
2 covered fewer people than Obamacare
3 were obviously floated only to kill Obamacare.

And ed, since I numbered them I don't have to back them up. But alas, I'm not a con, I'll back them up. this addresses 1 & 2

"The Democratic bill, in other words, covers 12 times as many people and saves $36 billion more than the Republican plan. And amazingly, the Democratic bill has already been through three committees and a merger process. It's already been shown to interest groups and advocacy organizations and industry stakeholders. It's already made its compromises with reality. It's already been through the legislative sausage grinder. And yet it saves more money and covers more people than the blank-slate alternative proposed by John Boehner and the House Republicans. The Democrats, constrained by reality, produced a far better plan than Boehner, who was constrained solely by his political imagination and legislative skill."

Ezra Klein - Congressional Budget Office Thrashes Republican Health-Care Plan

What proves my point #3 is that republicans have voted 40 times (yes 40 times) to repeal Obamacare. Not replace, repeal.

as far as the rest of your silly points, I can only laugh. What silly website told you SS was "thoroughly unconstitutional" ? honestly you should start a thread with that pearl of wisdom.
