Yep you read that right, humanity is doomed.

We had the texas freak weather, now it is over and it got to 80 degrees today, however humanity shows it's true colors. We had walmart and heb stripped clean, people trying to kill each other over lighter fluid and meat products on the shelf, and people who panick buy thinking any emergency means they must buy everything even if they do not need it out of fear it will not be there tomorrow.

We had a woman screaming and flailing arms we are all going to die because there was no meat on the shelves(she looked like she could not eat for a month and still survive) we had a woman attacked at a gas station because gas stations were short on fuel well because they could not get shipments in, then when they finally did half the pumps were frozen, so the people did what rational mases do, they tried to kill the woman running the register who had zero to do with the pumps, luckily she was behind the bullet proof glass at that gas station.

So what the heck is wrong with society, where people only keep half a day at best of food in their house under the assumption no matter what natural disaster hits they can go to the grocery store to remedy it, or people who literally have to buy everything they do not need, I wonder how many people have 300 pounds of beef in their deep freezer or bought every loaf of bread without thinking about expiration simply because of one week of cold weather. But here is the big one what the hell brings people to want to attack or try to kill store clerks because shelves are not stocked, are we as a society so useless if a supermarket did not have what we wanted we would melt down and kill each other?

I guess people could use a few reruns of various classic state sponsored infomercials.

Only a fool does not fear the Sea!
- How to avoid drowning for dummies.

Speed kills!
- Actually it doesn't, but it certainly makes accidents go from bad to catastrophic on a frequent basis.

The Russians are coming!
- Keep a supply of the following items in your household in case of flooding, storms, nuclear armageddon, or herds of killer tomatoes.

Stop, drop, and roll!
- How to make bears not eat you by making them think you must be sick or poisoned or something.

Actually, I would add a few.
- How to car/bicycle interact for cultures where bikes are still pretty uncommon.
- How to merge lanes without risk of sending your co-commuters into a homicidal rage.
- Queue culture. How to not get shot or beaten to death whilst grocery shopping.
- Parking etiquette. How to still have air in your tires when you get back to your car.
- Wilderness survival 101. For everyone who only ever experienced nature on discovery channel before going on their first hike/hunt/camping trip.

How are people able to fit extra food in their pantry which is filled to bursting with the 10 year's supply of toilet paper they bought a year ago?

My favorite is the "Duck and Cover" the govt pushed. In case of nuclear explosion, school children would practice scrunching under the writing surface of their combination chair-desk. Yeah, that'll do it. No problem.

On average, people are pretty stupid and that tends to show up when things are disrupted.

People are stupid, not just walmart and heb, but the local pawn shops were raided for guns again, maybe the planned on shooting the cold front dead with a 30-06 hunting rifle or something, or maybe they planned to hunt even though all the people rushing to buy hunting rifles did not know how to hunt and those who did know how to hunt already owned hunting rifles or bows.

Either way on saturday there were lines trying to return food at walmart, people trying to return moldy bread because they panick bought 40 loaves and walmart basically told them to piss off because the food was past expiration and not thier fault.

Funny enough king of the hill captured human panick, and it has never been a texas thing, but a human thing worldwide.

You mean Texas right? What the heck is wrong with Texas?

Given how people acted in liousiana during katrina, or in the northeast during hurricane sandy, or anywhere else it seems to be a humanwide thing not a texas thing.

Think of it like a dog who is full but eats more when another dog shows up because the one dog thinks he needs to own all the food, that can summarize mankind at this point, resorting to primal instincts when the slightest disaster hits, if it is not food it is toilet paper, and not too long ago mankind knew how to handle disaster, but it seems with an every reliance on govt and supermarkets mankind became displacent and forgot the lessons of previous generations who had to rely on their neighbors and actually plan for disasters.
