It is no secret that the skin on Trump is gossamer thin. And he can get his panties bunched just by reading the constitution. Well, Trump thought he OWNED twitter. What with calling all he ****s gospel due to his position. He thought he was king. And that he could just UNBEFRIEND, or block, or unfriend all those that saw he was EVIL. He will not stop, till he can delete all detractors.

White House asks Supreme Court to let Trump block critics on Twitter

he White House on Thursday asked the Supreme Court to reverse a lower court ruling that held that President Donald Trump's practice of blocking critics on Twitter ran afoul of the Constitution's First Amendment, renewing a debate about the nature of the president's use of social media.

A federal appeals court ruled last year that the president used his account as "an official channel of communication." On that basis, the unanimous three-judge panel of the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals held that Trump has effectively created a public forum, and was forbidden from blocking users based on their political views.

The full appeals court declined to revisit that decision in March.

But in a petition submitted to the justices, acting Solicitor General Jeffrey Wall told the court that the appeals panel inappropriately failed to distinguish the president's official communications on Twitter from the personal nature of his decision to block users he disagreed with.

Again, I ask. If Trump issues a death threat by twitter, is it REALLY a death threat? Or just pattycake?

How about if someone on Twitter issues a death threat against Trump? Shouldn't he be allowed to block them?

That has to be the most stupid appeal argument submitted to the court ever. Obama was right...after three years, he still doesn't know how to be president.

Say, how about we just vote him out office and then he can block whoever he likes?

How about if someone on Twitter issues a death threat against Trump? Shouldn't he be allowed to block them?

I'd say he'd wave every threat around as 'proof' progressives are anarchists bend on destroying democracy...

Hannity will have each and every one to use daily... :peace

That is for the Secret Service to decide not Trump. They are in charge of investigating threats to the President.

You didn't answer my question.

No...it's not.

The SS will deal with the threat, but they cannot tell Trump if he can block someone or not.

He doesn't need to block him because that person can't tweet from prison.

It takes time to send the person to prison.

Why can't Trump block the person in the meantime?

No...it's not.

The SS will deal with the threat, but they cannot tell Trump if he can block someone or not.

It's a ridiculous premise from the onset since Twitter does not allow death threats. They would block and remove any such post.

You didn't answer my question.

You didn't read the article, it has been declared official correspondence, he doesn't have the right to delete anything.

You dodged my point, tRump would LOVE death threats to use as a straw man in his fight to stay in office and out of court.

He wouldn't WANT to delete death threats, just the ones that don't praise him as the most perfect president ever... :peace

It takes time to send the person to prison.

Why can't Trump block the person in the meantime?

Because Trump doesn't want to just block people who make death threats, he wants to block anyone and everyone who challenges his opinion or mocks him.

You're arguing the most powerful man in the world needs a safe space.

How about if someone on Twitter issues a death threat against Trump? Shouldn't he be allowed to block them?

then that tweet goes to the fbi and the person arrested. the twitter account should be suspended as well.

It takes time to send the person to prison.

Why can't Trump block the person in the meantime?

Because he can't. He should boo hoo, and then promptly get the **** over it.

And I'd likely be willing to extend that same invitation to his devotees.

What a wuss.

It takes time to send the person to prison.

Why can't Trump block the person in the meantime?

then they could hit the "report this tweet" button and have the fool's account blocked for violating the twitter terms of service and subsequently held as evidence.

I agree. But then, I'm not the one who brought up death threats.

Trump really is a thin skinned punk.

Because he can't. He should boo hoo, and then promptly get the **** over it.

And I'd likely be willing to extend that same invitation to his devotees.

Do you extend that same invitation to yourself?

Or, are you just hypocritical that way?

Don't you think EVERYONE should have the right to block someone making a death threat?

Yep.

In the meantime, Trump should have the right to block them...just like anyone else should have that right.

given that he is using it for administrative reasons, I don't think he should as it affects the public record.

the ability for twitter to adhere for their own terms of service is protection enough.

then they could hit the "report this tweet" button and have the fool's account blocked for violating the twitter terms of service and subsequently held as evidence.

Sure.

And Trump should also have the right to block the fool.

How about if someone on Twitter issues a death threat against Trump? Shouldn't he be allowed to block them?
Stupid question. Anyone who threatens a sitting president will have a lot more than being blocked to worry about.
