President Biden’s opening approval rating isn’t much to cheer about, coming in below that of his two predecessors.

In Rasmussen Reports’ first Presidential Daily Tracking Poll of likely voters, the new Democratic president starts at 48% approving and 45% disapproving.

Notably, he is underwater with women (46% approve, 48% disapprove) and whites (43% approve, 51% disapprove).

Where is Trump with Rasmussen now? 65%?

And more

“The latest figures include 36% who strongly approve of the job Biden is doing and 38% who strongly disapprove,” Rasmussen reported.

“This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -2.”

Meanwhile, Reuters has Biden at 57% approval and 32% disapproval.

Early indications show honeymoon period for Biden administration: POLL
President Joe Biden is held in high regard by most Americans in a new poll.
President Joe Biden is held in high regard by most Americans, according to a new ABC News/Ipsos poll released Sunday, as he takes the reins of a divided country in the midst of a once-in-a-century pandemic and economic crisis.
In his first week in the Oval Office, Biden yielded high approval ratings for his response to the coronavirus (69%) and confidence in his ability to unify the country (57%). The new poll was conducted by Ipsos in partnership with ABC News using Ipsos' Knowledge Panel.

Biden's early honeymoon period is a sharp departure from the underwhelming initial response former President Donald Trump received four years ago.

In a recent ABC News/Washington Post poll, Biden's score for handling the transition landed at 67%, nearly 30 points higher than his predecessor just before his inauguration.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- President Donald Trump is the first elected president in Gallup's polling history to receive an initial job approval rating below the majority level. He starts his term in office with 45% of Americans approving of the way he is handling his new job, 45% disapproving and 10% yet to form an opinion. Trump now holds the record for the lowest initial job approval rating as well as the highest initial disapproval rating in Gallup surveys dating back to Dwight D. Eisenhower
