This man jumped from a plane at 25,000 feet with no parachute or wing suite and managed to land in a 100 by 100 foot net set up on the ground to catch him.

News from The Associated Press

I've known skydivers who jumped successfully without a functioning parachute. It's the landing successfully that's the really critical part.

The sickest thing was that he brought his wife and four year old kid to watch. This guy doesn't deserve his luck, even if the feat was impressive.

Well I'm glad he hit his mark.

That's where I draw the line between daring and "Are you a complete moron??" If you want to do something like this and you're the only who pays the price if you fail, then go right ahead. But the minute you're a father, you give up the right to do that kind of stupid crap. Your child's future with you is vastly more valuable than any moment of fleeting glory, so to do something like this leaves me (almost) speechless.

I don't think he was out of line at all. He's an expert skydiver, he did his research, they did practice jumps from a helicopter and he thought he could do it. He was right. Kudos to the jumpers.
