Six Democrat Mayors In Minnesota Endorse Trump For Reelection: Dems Moved Too Far Left’

By putting tariffs on our products and supporting bad trade deals, politicians like Joe Biden did nothing to help the working class.

Now isn't that an interesting argument?

Yes, it’s a laughable argument when Trump placed tariffs on Chinese products and China responded with counter tariffs on American farm products that bankrupted many family farmers and hurt workers who made domestic finished goods.

Moreover, those aren’t cities at all because they are so tiny. Mayor John Champa of Chisholm presides over a “city” of 4,800 residents. I was too lazy to google the rest of those cities but I suspect they are tiny towns also.

I've been to Duluth, but I've never even heard of those six small towns before. I hope they make a big splash.

"Tiny towns" don't matter, right?

The publication the OP is quoting is a biased source with an agenda.

Meanwhile, while six Democratic mayors from Mayberry sized towns endorsed Trump, Biden has gotten the backing of Several former Republican governors, a Secretary of State from the Bush Administration, several former Republican Senators, a Republican head of Homeland Security, etc.

The desperation to show some kind of equivalent is clear.

The Iron Range was sputtering and failing back when I left Minnesota in 1982.
Blaming Joe Biden is absurd.

Sounds a lot like coal country in West Virginia, and Trump's promises to coal country have panned out to be nothing, just as his promises to the Iron Range will.

Dylan even wrote a lament about it as far back as 1963:
North Country Blues

So the mining gates locked and the red iron rotted
And the room smelled heavy from drinking
When the sad, silent song made the hour twice as long
As I waited for the sun to go sinking

[h=1]Explaining the Iron Range downturn: Layoffs amid the challenges of a global economy[/h]
In the 1980s, some 10,000 workers — more than 60 percent of Minnesota's mining workforce — lost their jobs..
In 2001, 1,400 mineworkers lost their jobs when LTV Mining closed in Hoyt Lakes.
In 2009, more than 1,000 were laid off when several mines were temporarily idled, although the industry rebounded the following year.

I am not interested in hearing more promises from Donald Trump because of his history of broken promises made to economically depressed markets.
Minnesota's Iron Range Mayors might want to ask the employees of Carrier Air Conditioning Corp.

And by the way, WHAT IS SO WRONG about advising young people to learn how to code anyway?
One of the chief areas where the USA has a distinct shortage of skilled workers is in coding.

Correct. Pointing to an endorsement from a mayor who presides over a town with a population equal to the population in a small subsection of the bleachers in Yankee Stadium isn’t newsworthy.

Ely sounds like a great place for a vacation.

Not a big city exactly though.

None of those towns has even 10k people. Theyre mostly not even 5k people.

I guess meth makes people say stupid things- even mayors.

Got to love the soft bigotry in this post.

The Democrats in NYC sure don't care, but Democrats in Minnesota had BETTER care. That is news in Minnesota. The sentiment those Mayors have could be the tip of the state's iceberg.

Can the Dems afford to lose Minnesota's 10 electoral votes? Hillary won the state in 2016 by 1.5%. How many Dems voting for Trump would it take for Trump to win the state in 2020.

Yes. This IS newsworthy.

If you're a young single guy who is hale and hearty, the Iron Range and almost anywhere in Northern Minnesota is paradise.
You just have to bring along a sense of adventure, love for the wilderness and a lot of warm layered clothing, and the best work boots you can afford.

You will meet some of the most beautiful women in the world.
And some of the toughest, too.

There is trouble is socialist/communist land.

What will Lyin Biden do? Order BLM/Antifa to burn their house down?
Can Heels up Harris offer sexual favors to change their vote?

Popcorn time!

Yes. Let's look at your source btw. It is always good to look at what your source is.

Let look at the wikipedia entry on News Punch

NewsPunch - Wikipedia

NewsPunch is a Los Angeles-based fake news website known for spreading conspiracy theories, political misinformation and hoaxes, mixed in with real news stories.[1] Originally named Your News Wire,[5][11][12] it was founded in 2014 by Sean Adl-Tabatabai and Sinclair Treadway.[3][6][13] In November 2018, it rebranded itself as NewsPunch, and began redirecting yournewswire.com traffic to newspunch.com.[11]

A 2017 BuzzFeed News report identified NewsPunch as being the second-largest source of popular fake stories spread on Facebook that year,[6] and a June 2018 Poynter analysis identified NewsPunch as being debunked over 80 times in 2017 and 2018 by Poynter-accredited factcheckers such as Snopes, FactCheck.org, PolitiFact, and the Associated Press.[7]

The European Union's East StratCom Task Force has criticized NewsPunch for spreading Russian propaganda, a charge Adl-Tabatabai denies.[3]

Regular contributors to NewsPunch include Adl-Tabatabai, a former BBC and MTV employee from London previously employed by professional conspiracy theorist David Icke,[14] Adl-Tabatabai's mother Carol Adl, an alternative health practitioner, and Baxter Dmitry, who had previously been posing as an unrelated Latvian man using a stolen profile photo.[15][16]

Isn't that special?

Ya, little towns muck up the electoral votes for democrats, ask Hillary how that worked out.

I fully expect each towns phone lines to be crowded With nasty mouthed democrats trying to intimidate the Mayors, it’s how democrats do things.

I'd also add,

" ... and bring your checkbook".

I'm more familiar with WI than MN, but not exactly a stranger - either. Those tiny rural towns are great for a lot of things, but making money usually isn't one of them. You might be able to start a business, and eke out a living. Maybe. But good luck finding a decent paying job!

",,,,In a campaign rally for Trump’s re-election, Minnesota Iron Range mayors — Virginia Mayor Larry Cuffe, Chisholm Mayor John Champa, Ely Mayor Chuck Novak, Two Harbors Mayor Chris Swanson, Eveleth Mayor Robert Vlaisavljevich, and Babbitt Mayor Andrea Zupancich — endorsed President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence for a second term in office...."

Virginia, Chisholm, Ely, Two Harbors, Eveleth, Babbit .... great American cities all, with a collective population of about 25,000 people. Esteemed mayors of the highest statue that preside over their respective metropolis', likely all in Trump country anyway (so they likely have to make this endorsement).. You have really rolled out the Democratic heavy weights, eh? .. I'm sure you and Trump are proud.

Somehow, I don't quite think they have a financial nor political clout of the Lincoln Project nor Republican Voters Against Trump, but its cute nonetheless. Maybe they could pool their money and rent a billboard for the day.

Pass the popcorn.

Every one of these cities is in "the iron range". If you know nothing about the history of Minnesota politics, I suggest you educate yourself. The ONLY reason why Minnesota is a "purple" state is because the iron range has been solidly Democratic for DECADES.

This is much bigger than you probably want to admit.

According to Ballotpedia, there are 854 municipalities in MN. So, is it fare the say the rest of the ~900 that are Dems are pro-Biden? Because 6 seems quite scant, to be honest.

"Tiny towns" don't matter, right?
No, it's the big cities that count in the Democratic world because that's where the votes are but. sadly, they're under siege by Antifa/BLM.

Perhaps these hick small town mayors don't want the same problems there.

Too late for me.
I should have gone there fifty years ago.

The towns matter - what their part time mayors say about politics doesn't.

This is the rough equivalent of - "Random Republican on the Internet says she's voting for BIDEN!!!!!" Do you care? Doubtful....

And the problem with appealing to the voters, is?
