1. Should it be part of the process?
2. Great exchange between Republican Rep. Mick Mulvaney, South Carolina, and Rev. Al on the Obamacare/Romneycare/HeritageCare conundrum.
3. House Repubs say fund the CR except ACA and accuse the Dem Senate and President of the shutdown.
4. OTOH, Dems say it is the law and it is on the House Repubs to fund it.
5. Will we always face this shutdown problem heretofore on CR and debt ceiling?
6. Should these two, CR and debt hike, be timed together to make sense?
7. Is a $1 payment an admission of the law going forward, while we might even be able to tweek the law and calm down?
8. Is threatening a shutdown before Christmas each year hurting the economy?

Btw, IMO, Rev. Al stepped on the Congressman's message about 3-1. The Congressman believes in #3 and put it forth.

I am getting sick of this part. Oh, we do not like a law that we cannot repeal so we are not going to do our jobs and let everything shut down and try and hold america ransom because we are a bunch of spoiled children. They need a better system, or at least one that hit congress the hardest when they chose this path. If you cannot pass a budget, you get no pay and your money is not held in reserve. You can take no lobby money, no donations, and you live on the floor of congress until you pass one. your staff gets laid off, and your respective party is fined 1 million a day for each congressman they have. Then you can have your government shutdown. I am pretty sure we would have a budget if this happened. Even with a presidential veto i am sure they could find one acceptable enough to override the veto.

Allowing congress to be it's own supervisor has always been problematic.

They should be like every other working person and sit in their chairs and browse the internet if they have done everything they had to do. I personally would much rather they get paid for sitting around doing nothing after they have done everything than to pay them to go on vacation and be away from where they should be when they have not done what they need to do. The right loves to complain because obama played a game of golf, but I do not see any of them being concerned because their congressman are on vacation and work one week a month if we are lucky.

According to the Wall Street Journal today, the GOP House is the latest version of the Kamikaze pilots.
And the airplane is the USA.

One thing is for for sure with those people.
They will try to one-up each other and have been since the Senate turned over in 1982.
They are overconfident again in the Senate.
We have four great women running.
We need a mid-term National convention and I'm pushing for St. Louis.

If the GOP thinks the American people would blame Democrats for a shutdown under these circumstances, they deserve what's coming in 2014. :lamo

Make no mistake. Republicans will "shut this whole damn thing down".
Meanwhile, Republicans will crash the Christmas ecenomy for the 3rd year in a row. They're good at these crashes.

More evidence of tea party nihilism. They simply want to punish Americans for voting for Obamacare and not taking the US back to 1880. Conservatives are sick punitive people.

From the OP

1. Should it be part of the process? -
NO.

3. House Repubs say fund the CR except ACA and accuse the Dem Senate and President of the shutdown.
Maybe. What would be better is to cut the partison talk on both sides and do what is right.

5. Will we always face this shutdown problem heretofore on CR and debt ceiling?
Yes. Until the way Congress/Senate/President does a budget changes and they drop the paritson bs.

6. Should these two, CR and debt hike, be timed together to make sense?
We should not need a CR. Pass a budget.

8. Is threatening a shutdown before Christmas each year hurting the economy?
Yes.

Congress/President should develop a budget that lives within the means they have and pays down the debt. We will continue to have issues until the debt is paid and we quit overspending.

While quibbling on gun threads with no solutions, our economy gets ready for another self-inflicted wound for the 3rd straight Christmas by the GOP party of God.

Healthcare for all or civil war..............

you die at the hands of a greedy bastard either way, the only difference is you get to take a few CEO's with you......

the only 'shut down " needed is cutting off the $85 BILLION the feds print for Wall Street every MONTH..............

This SCOTUS ruling on ACA/HeritageCare/RomneyCare/ObamaCare is to be ignored since the absolute lunatics Cruz/Paul are driving us over the Grand Canyon.

Meanwhile, should Boehner criticize negotiating with Putin, the new hero of the GOP.

Republicans will wreck a third Christmas economy in a row.

The economy is currently "crashed" and it has nothing to do with the Republicans and everything to do with the law they are trying to defund.

Ironic isn't it ?

That Obama Care killed the 40 hour work week.
