And Jordan wasn't having it.
----------------------------

During a Thursday congressional hearing, a shouting match erupted between GOP Rep. Jim Jordan (Ohio) and Dr. Anthony Fauci over COVID-19 restrictions when Jordan pressed Fauci on when Americans can expect things to return to normal, bringing up civil liberties.

“When is the time?” Jordan asked during House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus hearing titled “Reaching the Light at the End of the Tunnel: Ending COVID-19”. “When do Americans get their freedom back? We had 15 days to slow the spread, turned into a year of lost liberties.”

“When we get the level of infection in this country low enough that it is not a really high threat,” Fauci replied.

First of all Fauci wasn't shouting - the shouting was all from Jordan's direction. Second of all both Jordan and Maxine are grandstanding idiots who both exemplify what's wrong with the dysfunctional elements of the government in Washington.

ZeroHedge - Media Bias Fact Check

How embarrassing for the OP and the people foolish enough to reply to his threads.

.

Maxine Waters is a fricking joke. Tells all we need to know about those who vote for her so she can live with whitey in $$$$ mega homes. A real statesman.

"When can we have our freedom back?" Jim Jordan

When we reach herd immunity, duh.
False. So long as anyone, anywhere has the slightest chance of contracting the virus, the authoritarian left will keep its emergency powers

That voyeuristic pedophile Jordan should be in prison being treated the same way as others were treated in his locker rooms.

How anyone can take that subhuman slime seriously is beyond me...

What is with the Republican support of paedophiles anyway???

Guess its worth the watch.

Last time a democrat told a republican to shut up.

I still don't understand the "freedoms" angle:
What is low enough? Give me a number […] what metrics, what measures, what has to happen before Americans get their freedoms?” the Ohio Republican asked.
As a Republican/Independent, I don't consider the safety protocols for CV-19 as taking away my freedoms. Yes, there were some restrictions for the safety of the community. Some of the restrictions resulted in personal hardships. Like not being able to visit a loved one in a assisted living facility. Yes, during the pandemic fans could not attend sport events, etc.

If more people used common sense a year ago the pandemic may not have gotten as bad as it did. Never bought into it was going to quickly get to zero or disapear.
So much is still not known about CV-19 and its possible long term health impact.

You're making too much sense.

You're making too much sense.
I do not understand some of the new Republicans in office today. Like I never understood completely the Tea Party.

I am personally disgusted with the likes of Jordan and Paul. We have our share of State Republicans like Fann who are just plain radical Republicans.

Jordan was out of control. Waters was justified in telling him to shut up.
When people holler over each other, none of it is discernable. Plain stupid.

It would be nice if we could go back to the days where a level of civility was the norm in or government. That would be before Obama was called a liar at his State of the Union, and Donald Trump decided the path to the heart of his base was by spitting on John McCain.

Considering the clown that Gym Jordan has become, Waters' good advice to shut his mouth is something he should consider.

And now the followers of Trump et al are so offended they are getting the vapors. The hypocrisy is to funny for words.

The GOP has proven in the last year that for all their bullshit about loving this country, they really don’t care at all. Between the idiotic denial of COVID and the seriousness of a pandemic and the their tacit support of the insurrection in January 6th any doubt has been swept away.

It’s going to take making an example out of those in congress who don’t respect the very office they hold. I am talking about both Democrats and Republicans...

You mean this audit?

Just days after outlawing counties from taking outside grants to run elections, the state Senate is now accepting private donations to complete its audit of the 2020 election.

Senate President Karen Fann, R-Prescott, said the cost of the review of the general election is running higher than the $150,000 budgeted. She blamed at least some of that on the lack of cooperation by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors.

But there are so far no answers about whether the public will ever find out who is providing the cash.

Potentially more significant, Fann acknowledged that the private companies that already have been hired for the $150,000 review may separately be taking money from outside sources directly -- and not through the Senate. And that would be in a way that could hide not only who is giving the money but exactly how it is being used, beyond what's in the Senate contract.

The disclosure comes just days after lawmakers approved -- and Gov. Doug Ducey signed -- legislation saying that outside cash should not be used to run elections. Proponents said it raises too many questions about whether the dollars are being allocated in a way that would be unfair.
Beyond that, they said that elections are a government function and should not befinanced by rich outsiders.

But Fann told Capitol Media Services she shes no conflict between that new law and using outside dollars to conduct what the Senate says is another government function: reviewing the 2.1 million ballots cast in Maricopa County and the integrity of the election equipment to determine if the results reported -- the ones giving Arizona's 11 electoral votes to Joe Biden -- were accurate.
"We're in a no-win situation,'' Fann said.

Attacking the source rather than the validity of information provided is not an argument. It is a fallacious non-argument.

What is with the Republican support of paedophiles anyway???

This is an ad hominem response, based on personal animus and twisting of the facts. Another fallacious response.

The "freedom" angle is, and always will be, the attempt to restrict otherwise harmless interactions based simply on fear. Telling others what they must and must not do because you fear some outcome, when your safety is always in your own hands.

There were many baseless "recommendations" and assertions "based on the science" which turned out to be over-reacting. How many times has Dr. Fauci "changed his mind" back and forth allegedly based on the science?

This pandemic was used to scaremonger, and stampede. It was also used to target people that some "thought leaders" felt needed to be curbed, while raising others up as "heroes." After the fact we find such heroes (like Cuomo and Whitmer) had feet of clay.

Panic and scaremongering are the enemies of freedom. That is the problem.

That is the one I think is a waste of time

This was ordered by the Board of Supervisors (4 Rep 1 Dem).

His idea of lost liberties is ludicrous. He included the inability to redress the government for grievances. He's probably just pissed he couldn't go to wrestling practice.
