Shouldn't Classism be as Morally Abhorrent as Racism?

It should be, but somehow the American bourgeois have convinced their serfs that it's their fault that they're poor.

"Just work harder and stop complaining, prole, you have no one to blame but yourself!"

It's like a multi-level marketing scheme or something.

The fact that people constantly leave the lower class and enter into the upper class is proof that it's not a mere illusion.
If people *want* they *can* shift upward. It's more of an issue of getting their priorities straight and making the right choices.

And the government gives an immense amount of help in the process.

But it's still not 100% successful - all the many efforts. Yes, sure, we have people who try and don't succeed.

Example of priorities being all jumbled:
Someone having a cellphone, inefficient and costly central heat/air, cellphone with a beefed up packages, over-average food consumption, excesses that aren't necessities like smoking or drinking frequently, high speed expensive internet, an expensive vehicle or an expensive living space when a less expensive option was available (always is).

But then complaining that their out of pocket premiums for health insurance are too high - and expecting the government to help out.

Definitely stop complaining. That's never a good thing as either an employee or employer. Who likes complainers?

Work harder...nah, it's results that matter. You can work harder, or smarter, or do something entirely different. You can even invent something then just live off the royalites and not really work hard ever again. Working hard isn't the best answer.

Do you disagree that there needs to be an arbiter, regardless of who it is?

Yes. I disagree that there needs to be an arbiter of who has what. That's too much power.

If there ever were one, what would you do if someone like me ended up in that position and decided that you weren't working hard enough to justify your pay...

"That may be the case. However, compare the success rates of political candidates who have no or little money to those political candidates who receive campaign contributions from those who are wealthy.

Also, compare access to politicians for those who donate small amounts of money to those who donate great amounts of money."

I think you must be trying to make a point.

What is it?
