If you come here through the set procedures and do it by the book, you are here legally. The question is whether we should even have a set of proper procedures for them to go through in the first place. I say we should because it makes it much easier to enforce laws if you have a file on everyone in the area, which I believe is a main reason that crime rates are higher in areas populated with large numbers of illegal immigrants. Guilty people don't get caught as easily. That is my opinion in a nutshell.
I say we should as well. We just need to loosen up the quotas and streamline the process.
So we shouldn't interact with Mexicans because they're diseased? This is rich.
Why don't we ban people from going on vacation then? Can't have folks coming home with some crazy virus, can we?
I'm talking about opening up legal immigration. The assumption is that the legal immigrants would be documented just like any American.
People are supposed to have vaccinations before they travel to third world countries. As a matter of fact, I believe there are multiple vaccinations that one must get before traveling to a third world country.
Well that's not open borders then.
I suggest machine gun nests along the border, and a Constitutional amendment allowing surviving invaders to be sold as slaves.
Or, if our low information citizens are feeling terribly concerned about the people we use as a convenient underclass, I'd be satisfied if we merely annexed Mexico.
But I invite anyone who lies in a fantasy world of open borders and unicorns to allow illegal invaders to live in their home rent free while supporting them.
Certain countries, yes. Mexico isn't included in that list.
I'm talking about opening them up relative to where we are today.
You know, following the herd is not always the right way to go. Just assess the situation based on its merits. If we bring in more people who are productive, that will benefit society. It has worked for us in the past. There is no reason it wouldn't work for us today.
That's like saying all Italians are in the mob, so we shouldn't have let in any Italian immigrants. The net benefit of immigrants is greater than the net cost.
Not true at all, and you can get very sick if you don't get vaccinated.

What you mean to say is that you want to loosen up immigration laws then. Open borders is something completely different. Open borders would infer that people can just cross from one country to another without restrictions at all.
Don't know what to tell you, I've been to Mexico several times without getting vaccinated. How many people get vaccines before they go to Cabo, or Cancun, etc?
