Should we give the President plan a chance in Iraq?

Should we give the President's plan a chance in Iraq?

  • Yes, if we leave now all of our troops who died would have died for nothing.

We've given his plan a chance for nearly four years. The latest troop surge isn't a radically new plan that deserves attention, it's just more of the same. It's too small to have any real effect on the situation in Iraq.

So to answer the poll question, it's time to cut and run.

Should we give the President's plan a chance in Iraq?

Do we have a choice?
Is there some way you can think of that we can stop him from implementing said "plan"?
You might as well start a poll about "Should we breathe air? Yes or No".
There's no choice; Bush has made it clear he doesn't give two farts in a paper bag what any of us think. He fires generals who disagree, and replaces them with sycophants.
You tell me what alternative we have, and I'll tell you if we "should give Bush's plan a chance".
If there is any viable alternative, then my answer is not just no but "Hell, No".

Cutting and Running is a good way to save a ship from a storm that it cannot weather.

Ahhh yes...the 64,000.00 dollar question.

"Should I allow Lucy to hold the football just one more time?"

"AAAAAUUUUUUUGH!"

In my opinion yes. If democracy can succeed in Iraq my children's future will be better.

I don't think it's quite fair to compare Iraq to a ship in a storm that can't be weathered.

A more accurate statement would be that we are not willing to do what needs to be done and some have decided that the possible success is not worth the risks and losses on the way to the goal.

You know there are already some subtle improvements in Iraq since the president announced the surge........Sadr has allowed his people to go back to the legislature and has ordered his troops to stop the insurgency.

There are also Iraqi troops moving into Baghdad and this time they are staying so far..........

Bad news for the cut and runners..

Sadr's troops are still torturing and murdering innocent Sunnis.

bush is such a moron that i think he has done enough harm and i don't trust him w/ 20,000 more troops. more soldiers will be dead and we will accomplish the same the last 4 years (nothing)

"Yes, if we leave now all of our troops who died would have died for nothing."

"sunk cost fallacy" - Google Search

Sunk cost - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Economics proposes that a rational actor does not let sunk costs influence one's decisions, because doing so would not be assessing a decision exclusively on its own. It is important to note that the decision-maker may make rational decisions according to their own incentives; these incentives may dictate different decisions than would be dictated by efficiency or profitability, and this is considered an incentive problem and distinct from a sunk cost problem.

Bush had is chance and blew it!

Let's give him a chance to try to save his job by starting impeachment proceedings.

LMFAO! Classic- as only the Cap can put it.

That doesnt change the fact that there have been improvements -- assuming the improvements noted are actually happening, they are certainly a step forward.

When you start a post out like that use lose all creditability on the issue........Try and come up with something new..........

Yes, cut and run sounds better than trying the new plan and then another one and then another one ...

Umm
You do realize that 99.99% of the people Sadr has killed had nothing to do with blowing up that mosque, right?

No I don't realize that at all.I know there are people on both sides stirring the pot....Even today in Baghdad I heard that Shia in the Military are killing Shira insurgents................

So much for your civil war............

Iraqi shias are killing Iraqi shias. Nope, doesn't sound like a civil war at all.

Must be last throes.

Bush is a Moron. Wait. That one has been done.

Why should we give Bush another chance? We shouldn't. He has not done anything to merit further trust. He uses the same old rhetoric. People are dying and he is unable to find a course of action that is effective in destroying the enemy at the same time not killing innocent Iraqis.

Cutting and Running is STUPID! It is time to fall back and regroup so that we ca FOCUS ON THE OBJECTIVE. Cut and run! What a ridiculous plan! Lets Cut and Run. If they hurry, they can be home for SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!

How about we apply some tactics instead? Hmmmm?
