30 DAYS or less I said. To end perma temp jobs, and make them real jobs of employees.
You did what? Worked 40 hours a week like millions of other temp employees do? Got hired from a temp position to a permanent one like millions of other temp employess have? Or got hired away from a temp agency to a permanent position with a police department that ended up getting shut down for some reason? Is that supposed to be the fault of the temp agency? Never heard of a police department that closed, did they close the community that was being policed too?I did. Temp to perm position that closed because a police department got shut down. lol. So much for the "perm" part.
Lursa???:lamoGREAT news Lursa! DP's resident business expert has granted a belated "yup" to the points you made earlier. Even though it appears this expert is not as knowledgeable about temp agencies as she claimed, she has decided to grant your knowledge a "yup" rather than run away from what you said or call you a liar. You must not be "too new here" for her to turn her brain on in order to read and "get" what you said. Must be a proud day for you and your family too. :2dancing:

:eyeroll:
1) My temp job involved the police.
2) just because you haven't heard of a department getting closed doesn't mean it doesn't happen. It was a piece of **** department filled with corrupt assholes, who got busted for their corruption, and the completely unnecessary department that existed only to write speeding tickets (literally wrote as many tickets as the 7 other departments in the same county).
I think many companies exploit them. For instance, there are about 4 temp workers in my department that have been here over 2 years now with no idea if they will ever be hired permanently. They don't have to give them benefits like sick time or healthcare. So while they do serve a purpose sometimes that gets taken advantage of so I am a little on the fence here.

Why in God's name would anyone want to get rid of an economically efficient solution? That would be silly and bad for the people that cannot otherwise find work. The problems are certainly not in making work flexible.
I currently work for a "temp agency", contracted by a company that is in turn contracted by another company, which is in turn contracted by the state I live in to provide services.I think many companies exploit them.
