Most humans probably don't have violent weapons in their immediate lives, but we are living in a human system that's based on violent weapons. The dominant mode on Earth is violent weapons: armed forces, police forces, nuclear weapons, etc. They've been talking about weaponizing space, too.

Let's suppose that each human actually has a say in how the world is run. You can vote, and the majority vote will have great effect.

There are two choices.

1. Increase weaponization

2. Decrease weaponization

Of course keep weaponizing. its the tradition of the Old West, frontier justice and we all know who won the West. Hint....it wasn't minorities. Lets face it American WASP's know better than everybody else in the world.

Lets just keep weaponizing till we are all just shooting the shit out of each other. THE weapon of mass destruction on this planet is not a nuclear bomb. Its an assault rifle.

Contrary to the lies of the Right Wing gun nuts, more weapons do not save lives.

Can you point to a time in human history that societies did not work to better arm themselves. Being white has nothing to do with it. It’s the human condition.
But nice to see you try and blame white people for it.

Do you actually think Native Americans didn’t have weapons? They were enthusiastic adopters of advanced European firearms.

So honestly the first thing this made me think of was GI Joe 2 and its plot. I know it was cheesy, but I couldn't help but think that it basically forced deweaponization of the world powers in order to have the one major weapon to hold those powers basically without any sort of retaliation or defense.

Now, I'm for deweaponization. I just think it is important that everyone is on the same page, ready to defend themselves against other less honest, more hostile powers. (not that the US is always honest or not hostile either)

Weaponizing the citizenry with arms designed for warfare and further arming them to such a degree that there are more firearms in the hands of citizens than citizens is a peculiarly American WASPish phenomenon.

On what do you base this remarkable statement? USA is a very nonviolent country, so you cannot use it as the standard.

but we are living in a human system that's based on violent weapons.
This was true 10,000 years ago when the club and spear were the highest form of weapon.

The dominant mode on Earth is violent weapons: armed forces, police forces, nuclear weapons, etc. They've been talking about weaponizing space, too. Let's suppose that each human actually has a say in how the world is run.
That's a lot to suppose.

You have gone from asking a lot to being ridiculous.

False choices. You assume that weapons can be reduced evenly, which is almost never the case. Someone always hoards, or finds a way to circumvent the process.

Peace has almost always occurred when one has been able to cow all others, eg the Pax Romana. Even this is deceptive, because Rome fought a 1000-year war with Persia. Both sides looted and sacked major cities in the other empire, but could not sustain operations across the Syrian desert.

Contrary to the lies of the Right Wing gun nuts, more weapons do not save lives.
It's not lies when you have facts to back it up.

Absolutely we should. Destroy all humans!
There is support for this approach as well.
