I think a good case can be made for why both men deserve a statute. I think there is also reasons why a statue to both men could be protested.

We will just disagree on this issue. Hopefully respectfully and without resorting to violence trying to prove why our point is the only correct one.

Some will try to equivocate and say George Washington owned slaves. But Washington freed his slaves when he died. Lee tried to prevent the slaves his father freed from being freed. Lee's troops captured free Blacks in the North and sent them into slavery. His troops were especially brutal to captured Black Union soldiers.
