Heck No. Muslims have offended us constantly with death and destruction and I haven't heard much from the "moderates" other than making excuses for jihad

Not only no, but hell no. (good choice of wording for that option btw) Muslim leaders are so quick to condemn the pope, but where were they after every suicide bombing around the world in the name of Islam? Sitting quietly on their hands, that's where. When they start condemning the radicals who kill innocent people in the name of their religion, I'll have some sympathy. Until then, as long as they sit silent while Muslim fanatics kill people over political cartoons and mere words, I will give them the amount of respect they deserve: NONE!

The New York Times has come out in favor of the Islamics and against the Pope..
This was once a proud quality newspaper, now I see where their allegiances are....... disgusting !!

Remember Islam is a religion based on hatred.

my local reverand has never encouraged the killing of people

I heard it. He was proposing to tone down the violence. Of course they flipped.

He writes his own speeches.

And people who actually take the time to read the Koran, The Hadiths , and the sunnah.

I have simply had it with Muslims threatening any who disagree with them or who don't walk on eggs when discussing them.

Muslims have a habit of threatening people they dislike with death and destruction. I don't think I am alone in becoming more and more fed up with their behavior. If you threaten me once I will probably overlook it as an over-reaction but an anomaly. If you do it twice I will be annoyed but still overlook it. When it becomes standard behavior to act in this way, to threaten, to riot, even to kill, I finally say, F*** you.

I am sick and tired of being threatened by Muslims every time they don't like something. I am sick and tired of Muslims feeling free to insult the West, to threaten Jews and Christians and then to riot when someone says something negative about them.

I am arriving at a point where I say, if there is going to be war between Muslims and the rest of the world let them bring it on, but if they do let us no longer restrain ourselves. If they hit us with a rock we should hit them with a boulder. If they hit us with a stick we should hit them back with a log. So long as the world allows Muslims to act the way they do they will continue. It is time to start letting them know that their actions have consequences.

I didn't feel this way even after 9/11 but I have finally had enough. It is time Muslims are punished, economically and if that doesn't work, physically. We tried the, 'most Muslims are good guys' approach and that hasn't worked. It is now getting closer to the time to call in the bad cop.

Do we disagree on the definition of "hatred" ?.
Having scanned as much as the Koran as I could stomach, I'd say it is full of hatred.
Worse yet, there are many, far too many ,who wish to lead their lives by the dictates in the Koran......
And this is the problem...

I say no. But not Hell No! So I didn't vote. An apology would be ineffectual. Even though, I'm not sure of what he actually said, either. :doh Still I say no. I'm sure he didn't mean to exacerbate the situation out there.

But I believe he has apologized in a statement already.

Dude, isn't the Pope supposed to be infallible and, like, completely incapable of making a mistake? And doesn't making an apology mean that you made a mistake and you're sorry about it? So...if the Pope apologizes to anyone for any reason, doesn't that completely invalidate the whole premise that he's the unerring mouthpiece of God?

Yeah, I'd like to see the Pope apologize. Should he? Meh, I don't think that'll make the muslims any less pissed off at him.

Kinda reminds me of a Dennis Miller joke I heard, about someone wanting to kick Dennis' *** for intimating that he was less than peaceful.

Have you read the old testament of the bible? Do you think it is full of love and hugs?

I agree with mixedmedia. No, but not hell no, the Pope should not appologize anymore than he did. Islamic extremists seem to be trying to hold the world hostage. If you say something against them, they threaten violence. If everyone backs down, they win.

Along side of this, however, I do not believe that all Muslims are hate-filled extremists who take the anger and violence of the Koran literally. There is plenty of anger and violence in the bible and only extremists justify their own behaviors from it's text. The religion is not the problem; it's what is taken and how it is used that is.

Aye we did :) The fact of the matter is the Pope's comments were Meant for RADICAL MUSLIMS, but he didn't include that statement. He should have.

He should apologize for all the Muslims out there that DO NOT engage in violence, however I do not think an apology is in order for radical Muslims.

I agree, screw those who want an apology form the pope. When muslims start protesting against terrorist scum, they I will be more sympathetic.

On a seperate note I do not think these islamo nazis are really offended,I think they see the pope's statement only as a act of defiance towards islam.

Yes, I have read many bits and pieces of this as well, in fact I have read a lot.
The point is: there are people out there who want to lead their lives based on writings of those from centuries ago..

This is just plain stupid !

There is NO one book written by man worthy for any other man to be a book of rules, particularly one written when man was living in fear and ignorance....

Islam : the religion of fear and ignorance.

What specific quotes from the Old Testament?

No, the pope shouldn't apologise. He didn't say anything what is apology worthy in the first place.

I suppose the different is the catholic church acknowledge they did in the past terrible things while I haven't seen an Imam say the same about the Islam.

I haven't heard the Islam apologize for cutting innocent civilians heads off.......No no but hell no..........

Warning: The following opinion may offend some. If you are one of those who might be offended, I hereby put you on notice not to read any further.

Y'know. The Pope is only telling the truth. Imagine that.

Sure, there are Muslims who are sitting on the sidelines who wouldn't hurt a fly. But turn on your TV. The Islamanics that have shat on their religion these past few years are NOTHING but evil and unhuman. The truth shall set you free.

So I checked "Hell no."

That being said, let me offer my personal opinions (disclaimer: If a Muslim reads this, please do not go and cut off the head of somebody else or kill a nun or blow yourself up. These are my words and my words only. If you gotta problem with it, come see me.)

I think, from what I have witnessed, that Islam is the scurger of humanity. It capitolizes on uneducated dumbasses and ties their hands behind their backs and keeps them in the stone-age while their powerfull pious Mullahs breed corruption and violence all the while getting intoxicated on their own power. Allah and Mohammad are just fairy tales with an unhappy ending to begin with. Pure, unadulterated bullshit. Anybody who believes in that crap are mentally challenged to begin with.

If you are a "Peaceful Muslim" apologist for the Jihadist's and you are not fighting those extremists tooth and nail, you are part of the problem as well. You should be shown no quarter. A simple disclaimer from some high up Islamic agency won't cut it. You need to root out these scumbags and get rid of them yourself, or to me, you are no different from them.

**** Allah.
**** Mohammad.
**** Islam.
(Yes, the asterisks above are four letter words beginning with "F.")

And if this pisses you off....**** you too.

I say it's time that WE take to the streets burning flags and effigies. To hell with Muslims. I don't care. I have had enough. **** off and die you bastards!

I say our authorities should turn a blind eye just long enough for us to run their worthless asses outta our country (as well as any other place that wishes peace and prosperity.) Send their sorry asses back to the desert.

No, I think the Pope was being way to kind. Somebody needs to get this out in the open once and for all and quit all this *****footing around.

Crusade indeed.

Many academics and historians feel that Pope Pius XII for the most part failed to say what desperately needed to be said in regards to the Third Reich.

If Pope Benedict XVI believes what he said and felt it incumbant to share his thoughts publicly, then he should stand by the courage of his convictions. There are core truisms that should always be articulated loudly and reinforced clearly by all higher religious authorities.

Make no mistake! The Muslim ones who are angry at the Pope are the same ones who sing and dance on the roofs of their houses and give sweets in their streets whenever there is suicide attack like 11/9 or 7/7 or attacks like that in Israel.

I think that those Muslims who are angry at the Pope should apologize us when they support these acts of terror before they criticise the Pope for ripping their masks from their real face!

That's it. It didn't come to me last night but this is the reason any apology from the Pope would be ineffectual. He would be apologizing to people who don't want nor deserve an apology because they validate his words.
