An interesting observation about the AMA in general
The American Medical Association (AMA): Abstinence Motivated Agenda
Lursa what I stated were observations of criminal activity where I live. In the Columbus Ohio area, those who get arrested for criminal activity often have marijuana in their possession. I should have included other drugs as well. We have a serious drug problem here. Right now the biggest concern is the number of teenagers getting addicted to heroine.LOL You are the one that said it! I just provided some parallels LOL
Whose making anything up? The information from doctors and their organizations have been warning people not to fall the happy horse **** you are espousing as if marijuana has not real risks.
for instance
Cannabis and mental health
You can overdose from drinking too much water.
You can't overdose from smoking too much marijuana.
Facts are pesky.

alright beefheart, you know more than the scientists/physicians. Got it! Thanks for setting me straight!
There are no cases of overdosing on marijuana recorded. But there are plenty of cases where it was a risk factor in deaths due to injury. Please point out the fallacy of my statement. You can't, and being sarcastic isn't helping you.
Please produce the statistics of how many people have died from overdosing on marijuana.

And this just last year out of Colorado
Two Denver deaths tied to recreational marijuana use - CBS News

Question.
Do you believe alcohol and tobacco should be illegal?

No.....
Again, you can tie anything to a death. How many people do stupid things that result in death because they were drunk? You talk a lot about personal responsibility, this is a case here. The marijuana didn't cause their deaths.
Lots of things in this world are far far far more harmful than pot, you just believed all the BS the anti pot crowd lied about for decades.
I highly doubt either of these accounts, but if that is a reason not to legalize then you better outlaw booze this instant.
What is the carnage annually on highways directly caused by drunk drivers in comparison to two deaths thought to be linked in two average everyday deaths in the United States. If you want to reverse the legalization in Colorado based on these two lonely reports against a backdrop of millions dying on the highways, thousands dying by hand gun. In the second you might as well ban hand guns.
Considering how many use it, how long its been around, the proven medical benefits, proven social benefits, two highly suspicious cases in a weak fulcrum n which to leverage further restrictions.
Too many scientists/physicians disagree with you, I have my reservations on legalization because of the adverse affects it could have on society. I would feel better if associations of these scientists from sociologists to psychiatrists and those who deal with addictions would not be against legalization.
Like I stated to F&L, the day the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Society of Addiction Medicine no longer oppose legalization, then I will no longer have any reservations. Not true. Again, there have been zero cases of anyone ever dying from overdosing on pot. Marijuana has medical uses, it is used all the time.
Adverse affects on society? Drunks beat their wives, start fights, etc, someone on pot doesn't. I'd rather have a stoned society than a drunk society.
For decades the US blocked all kinds of studies into marijuana, because the failed war on drugs and hysteria and hype. We are learning all kinds of wonderful things about this plant.
People smoke pot, and the sky didn't fall. It is a safe product, borne out by the facts. You don't want to see that....yet, you are OK with liquor being legal, pure hypocrisy.
Mornin F&L. Tell you what, when the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Society of Addiction Medicine no longer oppose legalization, then I will no longer have any reservations.

They are people who willingly choose to reduce their ability to contribute to society. No surprise how much socialism appeals to druggies.
Not only should it be legalized but that fat **** tyrant chris christie, along with everyone at the DEA, should be restricted to a weed only diet
So it is an ignorant person that listens to the advice of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Society of Addiction Medicine who oppose the legalization of marijuana?
If there is such a mountain of scientific evidence that shows pot to be harmless why is the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Society of Addiction Medicine against legalization?
