Tyler Robinson, the man who assassinated Charlie Kirk has been captured.

In Utah, aggravated murder (assassination) is punishable by death.

Inscriptions on shell casings found at or near the crime scene, (presumably inscribed by Robinson):

I don’t support the death penalty in general practice.

With regard to this specific case, we have yet to see any actual evidence. So I’ll reserve an opinion until the prosecution delivers their case to even begin to discuss that hypothetical
 
We're not living in frontier days anymore. The way the death penalty is administered today - the special steps that are necessary, the need for jury unanimity, etc., by their very nature make it a cruel and unusual punishment. My stand is that it is a violation of the 8th Amendment.
 
I don't believe in the death penalty.

If there was one group that deserved it though it is mass shooters and political shooters where there is basically zero doubt that they did it.

Tyler Robinson, the man accused of assassinating right wing provacator Charlie Kirk, is under arrest.
Another FYI, all cartridges are reported to be in the rifle, none found at the crime scene.
But other than that, the very summary I expected from you....

Agreed.
If the death penalty was effective the US wouldn't have one of the highest murder rates in the world.
Yet Americans are loath to take any examples from how things are done in countries with lower murder rates.

Not sure if the question posed by the OP was supposed to be a "gotcha" question to see which of us leftist snowflakes would say NO to the death penalty to the shooter specifically so they could mock us or call us names, but at least you and I have been honest that we are against the death penalty no matter who is convicted.
 

If charged, tried and convicted beyond a shadow of a doubt yes.
 
No, for all of the reasons repeated here ad nauseum about why nobody should ever get the death penalty.

The death penalty doesn't survive even the most cursory scrutiny.

Unless we're talking about putin. Then convict him of tens of thousands of war crimes, sentence him to death, and fry his ass on primetime TV.
 

Unfortunately, the President has already decided and characteristically and un-Presidentially has voiced his opinion nationally.

Oddly enough, Trump may have once again stepped on his own dick.

A good lawyer may be able to use Trump's dictatorial impulsivity and inability to remain quiet to argue that the President has made it impossible for Robinson to receive fair sentencing.
