Everyone know the democrats are in the back pocket of the unions........Should and employee in a union be forced to contribute to politcal parties which he disagrees with?

No, absolutely not. It is an extremely unethical practice, and I believe "Ah-nold" was on the right track in trying to make it illegal.

Definitely not. Sadly, most unions bully their members.

You do know that the major unions force their members to contribute to the democratic party don't you?

No.

Should a shareholder in a company be forced to contribute to politcal parties which he disagrees with?

I was a union member for 20+ years. I was NEVER forced to contribute to ANYONE nor was I ever bullied by anyone.

Why would the unions contribute to a party (republics) that was trying to legislate you out of existence?

I retired at age 50. Still young enough and healthy enough to enjoy and didn't have to get another job to make ends meet, quite the opposite. Try it, you might like it...LOL...

It doesn't have to happen with your knowledge. Those forced union dues go straight into the pockets of Democrats. And you just either have to eat that or not have a job (at least in most union-dominated fields).

That is not the point...........

Yeah legislate you out of business like opening up drilling for oil in Alaska and creating thousands of union jobs........

Maybe I misunderstood, I thought the question was, should an employee be personally forced to contribute.

Political contributions via union dues was answered.

Why would I want to contribute to a party that was against my better interest?

As I said, I have no complaints...;)

only for the democratic party. There is no other party.

We use to have a comfortable traditional republican party, that taught traditional values.

Alas this party is gone. There is still a republican party, but it is a new party of everything for the rich, profit, death, starvation, unprovoked war, confusion, inuendo, and lies.

The new Republicans would make Lincoln roll over in his grave.

The Government of the People, for the People and by the People is gradually being eroded away by green house gases and the Neo conservatives.

And this has what to do with the subject of this thread?

Quick question : Is it possible that there are unions that have a contributions program where a member can say which political party he wants his money to go toward?

First a little observational commentary. I don't think this thread went in the direction that the OP had intended it to. ;)

To answer the thread question. No, an employee shouldn't regardless of political affiliation of either the union or the employee.

Neither unions nor corporations should be allowed to donate to political parties, political candidates, or political campaigns. Union members and corporate shareholders should be free to do so as they see fit.

What is the percentage of Americans in the unions?

Left wing whacko Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore talking points, no more no less.......

No, none of the major unions, they all contribute to the democratic party.....

1) Being forced to pay union dues that go straight into the pockets of the people raising your taxes, driving up your health care costs, and sending your job overseas (Democrats) or not have a job is a violation of Freedom of Assembly.

2) As I often say, Democrats routinely demonstrate that they don't give a damn about the 1st Amendment and are actually its greatest enemy. Thank you for reinforcing that.
