Should American laws be determined by the Pope?

So.? That's tomorrows problem for you guys.
It's a problem for women and society. They will have become second class citizens yet again and society will have to deal with their decision that we want more unwanted children in the world. Like there are not enough problems already.

Leftists shitting themselves over ACB after supporting catholics in the senior leadership positions in their party all along.

****ing classic.

There are many, many “leftist” Catholics.. In fact, if you actually look at the churches beliefs, they align far closer to Democrats than Republicans.

Too bad tyour CT is pure BS

No. The Supreme Court should not be "in charge of our laws" either. The court is not supposed to make the law.

Did the Supreme Court create new law with Roe?

You do know that Rabbi's do not have authority to excommunicate anyone. Popes do. JFK was not in a position to overturn our laws. The Catholic majority in the SC does.
Give me a ****ing break!

You're mistaken about the Catholic obligation to obey the Pope as when the pope gives his opinions on the climate change hoax, for example. But these justices are morally bound to uphold God's moral teaching as reflected in the church's stance on abortion, birth control, and gay marriage. God's unwavering moral laws always trump inferior manmade laws to the contrary.

Stop pretending you now anything about Catholics (or anything for that matter)

Actually, you can't be a leftist and a practicing Catholic. It's impossible. The two are mutually exclusive.

that is not what our founders said. They felt that religion had no place in our laws or govt. Which God are you talking about anyway. There are many.

🤣
Biden and Pelosi have been virtue signaling being Catholic for years, and they never blink. Pelosi wants to pray the rosary on the floor of the House, and crickets from the Trump haters.

With Trumps latest SC pick we will have a majority of 5 Justices on the court that are of the Roman Catholic faith. Catholics are bound by their religion to obey the Pope or be excommunicated so my question is do we now want the Pope to be in charge of our laws? Is that even legal under the Constitution?
Roberts and Sotomayor aren't practicing Catholics, so your question is moot.

You are not a Catholic

at this point, does it matter?

This country is littered with these religious misfits. Why do you think we are so screwed up?
We're screwed up because of the atheist Marxists like Soros paying billions to destroy this country.

Nope were screwed up because of uneducated people like you

There is no reason to hate, friend. What good does it do? I wish you well, brother.

Biden's Catholic.

You can't. Leftists support abortion and gay marriage. Practicing Catholics CANNOT support those things.

Practicing Catholics should also support no hormonal birth control..... If practicing Catholics adhered to every belief of the church, it would close just about every parish in the country...

wanted to find something to refute your argument, but it wasn't to be found

so here is a dated article describing our supreme court andits six catholic members:
Supreme Court Justices John Roberts, Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy, Antonin Scalia, Sonia Sotomayor and Clarence Thomas are all Catholic. These six were appointed by both Republican and Democratic presidents, and their religious views don’t always obviously inform their decisions, as they come down on different sides on issues such as same-sex marriage and religious freedom.
ACB will be sitting in for scalia IF she is confirmed

i would think the issues in the following article are MUCH more concerning than her religion:

Roberts and Sotomayor aren't practicing Catholics, so your question is moot.

While there is a liberal, social-justice strain in Catholicism, there is a sharp divide between them and more conservative Catholics. And their dominance on the court has to do with ideology, said Marci Hamilton, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania who once clerked for former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

"I think it's because the Catholic vote can be relatively predictable on abortion," Hamilton said. "Now, that doesn't fit with Justice Sotomayor, but with respect to the male Catholics that have been on the court, they have been largely devoted to decreasing the power of Roe v. Wade."

That's a major goal for many conservatives, and one supported by Catholic theology.
