Those books aren't my taste, but I'm excited that you had a shopping spree! Enjoy your pleasure reading, Bub.
With the (coming soon) end of the exams and the money I got for Xmas, I bought many books, all of them look great
- A roman, "Gomorra" (about the Italian mafia) by Roberto Saviano
- A book about Marco Polo and his travel in Asia (it's a kind of summary of Polo's books, with pictures and explanations)
- "1001 insolite historical facts" (did you know that when they discovered the mummy of Ramses, they placed it too long under the sun, the resin started to melt and the arms of the mummy started to move!!)
- "Berlusconneries", a book with all the funny quotes by Berlusconi (like "I'm condemned to win" or "only Napoleon has done more than me")
and 3 sociology books
- "La distinction" by Bourdieu (he explains that goal of the rich people is to show that they're different from the poor people, they do and buy things that the poors can't afford etc...)
- "Les héritiers" by Bourdieu (he explains how school eliminates the poor people, the reasons why only those from educated and rich families make it to university, even if there is a formal equality)
- "The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life" by Erving Goffman

The internet is my book
bah, there are informations that you don't find on internet!
I hate reading, but I'm glad you like it. Do you have an eReader like the Kindle?
Nope, I like real books, where you can highlight interesting ideas and fold the corners of some pages in order to find the best ones easily :2razz:
That's cool. I have a bunch of the classics in leather binding in a bookcase. They're there for show; I never open them.
I like books, but only audio books.
that surprises me, I didn't even know what an eReader was and I've never seen an audiobook neither!
But I also have books "for the show", like that huge history book in Dutch...I've read 6 pages of it but it's on the top of by bookshelf
Harry who
Don't play dumb.
He's a boy witch or something with magic powers, right? Never read the books and never saw the movies.
No Harry Potter?
Lame
I'm not 14 anymore
Neither is Harry potter
Well I could agree if we were talking about Hermione, but Harry can go to hell
