She Took the White House Photos. Trump Moved to Take the Profit.

All his grifting is unprecedented for a president/former president. If he's so rich, why doesn't he use his own money? Or is he just a cheapskate? Or both? (I'd go with both.)

As they say, every relationship with Trump is transactional. It is, I would bet, a characteristic of narcissism.

They both have every right to. The problem here is that the former presidents, as in the case of Obama and Bush, have the ability to earn much more money than their photographers. Thus, they defer to the artist and even help them, out of appreciation and generosity of spirit. Mr. Trump just screwed her.
Of course that's what he did, because that's who he is. The only person that matters to DJT is DJT. The end. He could legally screw her so he did that, and made $20 million off her work, without even crediting the photos she took.

I'd feel more sorry for the photographer, but she had to know this about the person she photographed for four years. She's the frog, and she should have known the nature of the scorpion. The only difference is in this case the scorpion pushes the frog under, jumps on a floating stick and makes it to shore....

You're fine with Trump screwing over this artist.
If they both have the right to sell books with those photos, then nobody has gotten screwed. She is free to sell her own book.

Man, that is really cold.

He really had her snowed. My cousin is a narcissist. This is exactly like something he would do.

Is something stopping her from publishing a book of the photos she took?

"WASHINGTON — As President Donald J. Trump’s tenure came to an end, the chief White House photographer, who had traveled the world with him and spent countless hours inside the White House snapping pictures, notified Mr. Trump’s aides that she intended to publish a book collecting some of her most memorable images. This was hardly a radical idea: Official photographers from every White House since President Ronald Reagan’s have published their own books. Barack Obama and George W. Bush were so supportive that they wrote forewords for them.

First, aides to Mr. Trump asked her for a cut of her book advance payment, in exchange for his writing a foreword and helping promote the book, according to former associates of Mr. Trump. Then Mr. Trump’s team asked Ms. Craighead to hold off on her book project to allow the former president to take Ms. Craighead’s photos and those of other White House staff photographers and publish his own book, which is now selling for as much as $230 a copy.

That the profits from Ms. Craighead’s labor are now going into Mr. Trump’s pocket has left several of Mr. Trump’s former aides upset — but not exactly surprised. “Shea’s a very talented photographer and this was really all of her hard work,” said Stephanie Grisham, who served as the White House press secretary for Mr. Trump and wrote her own book, referring to Ms. Craighead by her nickname. “I just keep thinking: What a shame that he is actually now profiting off of it. But then again, this is the guy who is hawking caps and all kinds of stuff right now to raise money for himself.”

What a scumbag.

"In 2018, Craighead told Marie Claire magazine that she and Trump had “a lovely relationship … very professional, but also … quite humorous at times”, and added that Trump had “a genuine, strong, caring heart”."

lol, yeah, just don't come between him and a buck.
What do her terms of employment say?

I haven't defended Trump or the photographer.
We all knew 100% that you'd end up just where you did - defending Trump. It's as predictable as the sunset.

Right, he just treated her like shit, didn't give her credit for the photos he published, demanded a cut of the profits for a forward previous Presidents had provided as a courtesy for a job well done, then asked her to wait for her own book so he could get out there first with his. Totally fine!

If she agreed to anything he asked, then that was her decision.

My guess, the US Taxpayers.

So where is our cut of Trump's photo album sales?
Seems like they take lots of photos of Biden looking lost? Wonder if we have got our cut of those photos yet? Probally went to Hunter?

Do you think that photographer should be able to exploit the property of the taxpayers for her own profit? I don't. And I don't think Trump should be able to, either.

Now...as someone here mentioned, the photos are in the public domain. If that's true, then EVERYONE should be able to profit from those photos...both Trump and the photographer.
Just face it - he's white trash

It brings me great joy to watch trump grift off these morons and they just keep asking for more because they are too stupid to figure it out.

He had her snowed. Narcissists are extremely talented at that. It's their Forte. You think you're the special one, like everybody else; just there to be used. Believe me, I know one intimately.

My whole family as well..
Saw trump coming a mile away. He makes you think he's gonna take you along for the ride and make you money.

Because as a former president, he has many ways to earn millions. She had one chance to earn $300,000 and he just took it from her. Didn't even credit her in his own book! He's a sick piece of shit.
What did he take away from her? She has every opportunity and right, so it seems, to publish her own book.
