New polling out of Nevada is unnerving Democrats who fear Republican Sharron Angle’s campaign is surging despite enduring millions of dollars’ worth of TV ad attacks from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

The three most recently released public polls show Angle with a nominal edge, though all have been within the margin of error.

While Reid’s campaign insists there is nothing to be nervous about, one Nevada Democratic strategist said that’s not the vibe behind the scenes.

The fact you consider this good news is disturbing. Reid is a total s***bag. And the best candidate the GOP can field is this crazy bitch? And after spending huge sums of cash, they are statistically tied? Nevada's Senate race is a sign America is broken. When massive spending for a total bat**** candidate is in a dead statistical tie with an awful incumbent in a tide of anti-incumbency, this is just sad.

I have heard a lot about the craziness of the O'Donnell, what is insanity of Angle's do you refer to?

Asked questions about her platform, quoted from her own website, she accuses Reid of putting words in her mouth. Thinks the media should only ask questions she wants to answer. After a couple interview disasters, got sequestered away from the media as much as possible.

Proposed a bill that would have required doctors performing abortions to inform the patient about abortion's (non-existant) link with breast cancer. Wants a federal law to ban same-sex marriage. (so much for states rights?) Thinks its wrong for two parents to work at the same time. Suggested that if she loses her supporters should get their guns and... well, something. Wants to privatize the Department of Veterans Affairs, because damnit we can't afford to pay for that guy's parkinson's medication! Seems to want to re-instate prohibition. (in Nevada!?)

I could go on.

Don't forget wanting to wipe out the US Dept. of Education, because it's "unconstitutional," and her recent remark that unhappy citizens may "have to fight for their liberty in more Second Amendment kinds of ways."

Holy ****, thats a scary statement.

If you're a republican it seems reasonable. "Oh, if the people choose a candidate I don't like, I should just shoot them!"

I like a government that is fearful that if it goes too far honest patriotic citizens have the power and the tools to take oppressive agents of government out. of course that is far different than advocating some nutcase ought to cap a senator just because the politician is in a different party or votes for something the nutcase opposes.

A government that has no fear of its citizens is one that the citizens need to fear

She was basically saying that if the GOP gets out-voted, conservatives should get their guns. Sounds anti-democratic to me.

If your spin or take on her comments is accurate than yes-that is disturbing. Of course that is a big IF

Not so big, actually. And it's not the first time she's brought it up.

Sharron Angle: "second amendment remedies"

Earlier this year Sharron Angle (R-NV) was asked by right wing radio talk show host Lars Larson, where she stood on the Second Amendment.

“You know, our Founding Fathers, they put that Second Amendment in there for a good reason and that was for the people to protect themselves against a tyrannical government. And in fact, Thomas Jefferson said it’s good for a country to have a revolution every 20 years.”

“I hope that’s not where we’re going, but, you know, if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies and saying, ‘my goodness what can we do to turn this country around?’ I’ll tell you the first thing we need to do is take Harry Reid out.

And during an interview with the Reno Gazette-Journal last month, Sharron Angle said “it’s almost an imperative” that conservatives win. “The nation is arming,” she said. “What are they arming for if it isn’t that they are so distrustful of their government? They’re afraid they’ll have to fight for their liberty in more Second Amendment kinds of ways. That’s why I look at this as almost an imperative. If we don’t win at the ballot box, what will be the next step?”

Her views though questionable are not that far fetched. Since November 2008 more and more are seeing things thru NRA type eyes. Is it paranoia (??) Well some of it is - but still We have not been down this road before.

The hell we haven't. Not one single thing is new today. Even the sad hyperbolic socialism claims are rethread. As old as the Union. One my complaints has been the complete lack of imagination among the attacking voices. For the love cheese, please be more orignal.

It should unnerve anyone who isn't a drooling imbecile.

Given that a rather large portion of the population supports institutions such as the department of education, such statements cannot be contained to apply to the governmnent only, but rather against one's fellow man.

It is amazing isn't it. It is like a soccer game where the goalie has left the net completely empty and the other team gives the ball to the water boy to shoot it.....unbelieveable how they think.

Waterboy? That's generous. I'm thinking paraplegic child of a fan.

If they ran someone even half as decent as Charlie Crist, Reid would have been abandoned by the National Democrats on funding.

I suggest that a number of you read the following and it might be a little different than you think her current platform says she's about.

Just a thought.

Sharron Angle's Tea Party Agenda Gets A Drastic Makeover

Sharron Angle's Tea Party Agenda Gets A Drastic Makeover

In early June, Senate candidate Sharron Angle spoke emphatically on her website about abolishing the Department of Education, having Social Security "transitioned out" to the private sector, and repealing legislation that prohibited offshore drilling.

But today, if you visit the Nevada Republican's website, you'd have no indication that any of these positions were planks of her agenda.

After three weeks of rewrites, the Angle campaign has released (with little publicity or fanfare) a new and improved campaign website. It was done with obvious care, and tailor-made to pitch the Tea Party favorite as a mellow-minded conservative alternative to her Democratic opponent, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
