Sharpton to lead 'Justice for Trayvon' rallies.....

AL sharpton is a veteran of the civil rights movement so his perception on this trial may be biased by his experience back in the late 60s.

for people who have a understanding about what it was like in states that supported segregation back in the 1950's and 1960's, the chance's for a fair trial for a African American in states like Mississippi or Alabama were next to none.

people like AL sharpton had fought for years to end such prejudice and in their minds it is a constant struggle.

Al Sharpton hasn't fought for anything but lining Al Sharpton's pockets

personally i am more a follower of John lewis, civil rights leader and current u.s congressman from georgia.

calll al sharpten whatever you want, but John Lewis actually practiced what he preached: he was seriously injured on the first attempt to cross the Edmund Pettus bridge as part of the Selma to Montgomery Marches.

Here some incoming for all of you interested in the Zimmermann Affair. Looks like Politics will get to play its part too.

The Rev. Al Sharpton announced Tuesday that he will lead a national "Justice for Trayvon" day in 100 cities this weekend to press for federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman.

Zimmerman's acquittal over the weekend in the shooting death of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin has touched off protests around the country. The Justice Department is investigating whether Zimmerman violated Martin's civil rights when he shot the 17-year-old during a February 2012 confrontation in Sanford, Fla. Zimmerman said he fired his gun in self-defense.

"People all across the country will gather to show that we are not having a two- or three-day anger fit. This is a social movement for justice," Sharpton said as he announced the plan outside the Justice Department with several ministers.

The rallies and vigils will occur in front of federal court buildings at noon Saturday in cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and New York.

Sharpton admits there are possible legal hurdles, but says "there is also a blatant civil rights question of does Trayvon Martin and the Trayvon Martins of this country have the civil right to go home.".....snip~

It would appear now that Sharpton will go after Florida's Stand Your Ground Law. Not that he wants to live there with those good people of Florida. Just that he wants to tell them what laws they can and can't have.

Did anyone want to throw out an Amen for Sharptones?
Gee, I cant wait. I will be on the beach surf fishing. So Mr. Sharpton will have to go on with out me.LOL

So tell me how that gives him the right to exploit his own people and LIE about an event that never happened.

does that one event make him a pariah and a evil man in your perspective, regardless of all the accomplishments he has done in his life?

When he started a brew-ha-ha based on a lie? You betcha. Do you condone that kind of dishonesty?

if he intentionally did it then yes i would condem it. but can you prove that he intentionally lied about what happened?

but even if i do condem John Lewis for lying, i would not Consder him a evil man for the rest of my life based on one event where he lied.

that one lie should not erase all the accomplishments that john Lewis has achieved in his life.

No onelse heard it, so he is either lieing, or dillusional.

The guy is encouraging to fight the laws and push for changes while respecting the law. He isn't encouraging violence or riots. Even if he loses the fight, he is being honorable in the process.

And what if there are no riots, ever?

Uhm...no.

Sharpton and everyone who's been pulled in by the media's mischaracterization of the conflict will not stop until their form of justice is administered.

Initially Sharpton wanted a trial.

He got one, now since the trial didn't pan out he's raised the bar.

If Holder refuses, then there will be real unrest, violence and property destruction.

How honorable was he in the Tawana Brawley episode?
He is a fool.

Who do you consider a race baiter in favor if Zimmerman? I don't see many white people constantly getting hammered for being a race baiter, but surely white people racebait too and did so during this trial, right?

I don't think Sharpton and other race-baiters have been "pulled in by the media"; rather, they've pulled an eager media in.

Total mischaracterization of Sharpton. He's a snakeoil salesman plain and simple, has been for the entirety of his career in the public limelight. It's about money, power and attention/fame for him. Lower than pond scum and his antics have set back the civil rights movement time and again.

Al Sharpton is a waste of hot air. Can't we just throw him in prison for 'something'?

They should have back when he embezzled from his campaign. But he says the "right stuff" on cue and so the powers that be have kept him out of prison.

Well, that also applies to most of your posts but we still think you're a decent guy.

No onelse heard it, so he is either lieing, or dillusional.

You only had some respect for him prior to that....

That doesn't justify his lying about being targeted by Tea Party memebers.

I had some respect for the guy too until he did that.

I would also be interested in hearing that explained. After the Tawanna Brawley hoax, you'd hope he would have learned.
