Quite honestly, I am unsure what happened.

Still investigating...

The database was currupt again so I turned on high level logs to sniff out the issue.

I have a good joke to tell you about servers, but if I told it here, I am sure I would get at least a temporary bannination. LOL. Next time I see you at the iRC channel, remind me to tell it to you.

I still say it was cherokee and Vader messing with the Napalm...

Something's still a little screwy, vauge. When I first logged on, it acted like it was still yesterday, i.e. a thread was saying that the last post made was at, say, 4 pm, when obviously it hasn't hit 4 pm yet today. I refreshed and it fixed that problem, but now, it's not showing the newest posts. For example, I have a thread that says Gunny made a post this morning. I click on the thread, and it's not showing Gunny's post at all.

I find it most peculiar that a server outage from November affected January on the same dates!

/Ducks and runs.

I think I know what caused this problem, I had to "rebuild" the post cache which makes the server faster.

Logout/login should resolve it. (*crossed fingers*)

No kidding! I didn't make the connection. :(

A day behind this time...

db currupt again, server just goes down without warning.

Looks like its time to call in the expensive admins to find the issue. :(

Hey vauge - not sure if this is related, or a separate issue, but whenever I go to the index page, it initially shows up looking like I'm not logged in. But as soon as I click on something, it recognizes that I AM logged in. I didn't realize that at first...I thought that perhaps my cookie had been deleted, so I filled in my login info, got the thanks for logging in screen, and then it showed right back up looking like I wasn't logged in...but then I happened to scroll down and saw my name shown in the currently online list, and lo and behold, I'm logged in. It only does that initially...like, if I went back to the index page right now, it'd show me as logged in, but if I went to another site and came back, it'd show back up asking me to log in. Does that make sense?

Yep it makes sense - I betcha you were on the site when it crashed. :(
Try deleting your cookies and then log back in.

Nope, still doing it...I may have missed something though. I'll look into it more in the morning...don't have the brainpower for it right now.

- I logged in a minute ago and it took me back to the log in screen.

- I tried again a few seconds ago and the same thing occurred.

- Just now I clicked on a link and it showed me logged in.

Try to logout completely and then log back in. *fingers crossed*

Was just informed - Emergency Kernel upgrade coming shortly.
Server team is handeling it.

This is complete - my appologies if you were posting (or attempting to post) during the kernel compile and reboot.
