Senator denies remark was racist

Amazing what money can buy, aint it?

Let's see what happens in 71 days...The GOP are very vulnerable this year...The past is done...what does the future hold?

Yeah, right......sometimes I almost wish that democrats would win the congress and the presidency so I can just bitch about them and how bad a job the president and the congress is doing without offering any solutions to any problems.............

Then I come to my senses and realize if that happens it could mean the end of this country as we know it and we might be all speaking Arabic........

Liberalism must never win......

Do you truly think that George W. Bush is doing a good job? You think the war in Iraq is going well? Is Baghdad on your itinerary for your next vacation? How about gas prices? Happy with that? Or what about FEMA, doing a heckuva job? Well organized?

What about America's standing in the world community? Think Bush has improved it since 9-11? How's that Democracy by War experiment going in Iraq? How about the great democracies in Palestine and Lebanon?

Do you blame Clinton (5.5 years later) for the state of our relations with Iran?

How about Science? Think Bush has done a good job developing alternative fuels for America? What incentives has he created? You think America still leads the way in Medical advancements or new technologies under Bush...

Oh yeah...how's the budger deficit doing? Who do we owe money too?

The world today, August 2006 is a much, much more dangerous place to be an American than in anytime in my 50 years on this planet. Do you think Bush has made us safer? You think there are less people today who you dead than on January 19, 2001?

How many Presidents that you know have started a war?

One last thing...the Oil Companies are making record obscene profits....how are Ford & GM doing? You gonna buy an American car anytime soon? Who would? They suck compared to Japanese and German cars...

I wonder why when leaders in the democratic party like Byrd, Biden, the 2 Revs (and I use the term loosely) make racial slurs they are given a pass and when a Reppublican Like Lott or Allen makes one they are crucified by the Liberal Media and the left..........Oh wait I get it, the left is the Liberal media..........

Should not anyone who makes racial slurs be condemned regardless of their party?
Answer to your question? Absolutely - see easy
But you say Biden made a racist comment, could you reference which comment you are refering to? If it's the same as what Stinger is pointing out perhaps you can shed some light as to how "slight Indian Accent" is racist or demeaning to an entire immigrant population.

Stinger said:
Yes, but don't hold your breath. They won't even say they won't support Biden after his degrading remark.
What degrading remark?
How about this Stinger, I can't go to Brookly without a slight Brooklyn Accent, is that degrading to all the ppl of Brooklyn?
You've got some questions to answer to Stinger:

  1. Can context nullify racial slurs?
  2. Is macaca a racial slur? (just answer yes or no to both of these)
  3. How is stating "slight indian accent" in any way racist?

26 X World Champs said:
How can you write out of the side of your keyboard like this? This entire thread is about Allen's racist remarks and you've never condemned him..hell you stated you're ready to vote for him!
This is not true, NP has already admitted that Allen is a Racist son of a bitch.

Stinger said:
You tag Allen a racist but give Biden a buy for a more egregious statement.

I am more than happy to let you wallow in that. You painted yourself in that corner now you have to live with it.

It's a non-story now.

As far as the rest of your uncivil post, perhaps the mods will send you a warning over it.
Speaking of Corners.

It was actually 89% in the 2004 elections down from 92% in 2000 and don't forget its not Bush you will be challenging in 2008 but probably McCain........If the Republican get 75% of the Black vote it will spell doom for you and your democratic party........
...and THEN LIES and tries feeble, immature insults about what he said 12 posts and 7+ hours later...:rofl

Remember the mantra of the far right....make up untruths and repeat, repeat, repeat them because a certain percentage of the population will eventually believe the lies as fact. Reagan started it and the best example continues to be tying Iraq to terrorism insomuch that it existed in Iraq BEFORE we attacked!

When liberal morons try to turn every non-racist issue into a racist issue you just make people numb to any actual claims of racism.

No.

If I went by liberal standards it would be politically incorrect to make such assumptions so to a liberal moron it would be racist.

No, mind reading is not necessary, but a little common sense would further the conversation. Demeaning someone when you know what he meant to say tells me that you have little to add to the debate. Would you like me to post every mistake you have made??

Bottom line is all this garbage being thrown at Senator Allen by the left will not work..........He will be re elected to the Senate and try to win the nomination for president in 2008.......

You can take that to the bank..........

Win in 2006? Most likely except this story just appeared on one of your favorite right wing whacked out to the nth degree websites, Newsmax:

Poll: Sen. George Allen Trails in Virginia Race

Republican Sen. George Allen – a potential presidential candidate in 2008 – has fallen behind Democratic challenger James Webb in his re-election bid in Virginia.

Webb, who trailed Allen by more than 10 percentage points in late July, now leads Allen 47.9 percent to 46.6 percent, according to the latest Wall Street Journal/Zogby poll.

The lead is "small, but we’re very encouraged,” said Webb campaign spokesperson Kristian Denny Todd.

"The more people come to see the real George Allen, the more they don’t like what they see.”

First of all Zogby is one the most unreliable posters in history, secondly he is a mouthpiece for the democrats.......

I would not bet you house on that poll Champs...........

Challenge to posters:

Commit to one poll that you will regard as credible regardless of whatever results they find.

I am of the opinion that people try to validate themselves with polls when said polls backs their opinion and deny the ones that don't.

So.......... the challenge is on.

Post one single pollster that you will consider valid and stick to it.

Any takers?

  3. How is stating "slight indian accent" in any way racist?

1. Yes
2. Depends on how it is used.
3. That's not all he stated is it.

"In Delaware, the largest growth of population is Indian-Americans, moving from India. You cannot go to a 7/11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking."

So is demeaing an entire race as only smart enough to work menial jobs racist and that you have to have an indian accent to go into a place they work racist? Yes or no?

As stated, if you give a pass to Biden yet condem Allen your hypocracy is glaring.

You made your stance and I am more than happy to let you wallow in it.

3. That's not all he stated is it.

  1. :spin: So I can say hey there Mr. Ni_gger to a black guy, or say "Mr. Ni_gger or whatever your name is." And it wouldn't be racist? The context isn't racist. That's bullshit and you know it.
  2. Yes or no?
  3. Let's examine again then.
Stinger said:

How is this line any bit racist? It's simple fact.

Stinger said:

Slight indian accent again is the closest I see, your explaination of this is as follows.

Stinger said:

How in the world do you get from the context of the statment made by Biden to state that Indians are smart enough ONLY to work menial jobs is beyond me. Perhaps you can show how you relate that? Now you are making up language to suit your own purpose. There is no way whatsoever in which that sentance by any means makes the statement of intelligence or reservation towards the Indian race. You are being very dishonest.

But incase you go on about a made up question of yours, the answer is an obvious no. And again Biden didn't say anything of the sort.

Stinger said:

You've failed to show how in any way biden's statment is racists. Instead you've turned it around and inserted your own garbage into it so that the quote would take on a different meaning.

Stinger said:

You have lied and you've lied poorly at that. You're lie is very clear in this forum here twice now.
It shows that you are completely owned by the GOP and refuse to acknowledge what is blatently obious. You operate on the premise that because so and so said something that it makes it alright for another to knowingly do the same.
Yet you've been unable to show such a fallacious premise in a truthful and honest manner without inserting false pretenses into the statement.:liar2

SO go up to a group of black guys james and keep saying "hey Ni_gger" in a non-racist context and then come back to us and tell us how it went.

Check out the made up bullshit here.
Red handidly caught inserting lies into a quote completely taking it out of context.

Off topic?????????

I could have sworn the thread was about Sen. Allen.

Yep, and as per the topic up there "Senator denies remark was racist". I don't see anywhere on the topic where it says his re-election.
Seems many ppl on here still have issue with whether or not Allen's comment was racist to begin with, even though it's been prooven to be such on the first and 2nd page of the thread.

Soooo, the possible consequences of Allen's comments on his election are not pertinent?? Why don't you complain to a mod and see how far that goes.

Proven?? I don't think so.

Sorry, but your opinion on a subject is hardly proof of anything.

There are some that would disagree with you:

"Joe Biden has a history of making insensitive and inappropriate remarks," said Dr. Vijay. "But even for him, this recent gaffe is clearly over the top."

"Senator Biden will be surprised to hear that I am a cardiothoracic surgeon, leading a national association of Indian Americans who are physicians, attorneys, and small business owners. It's amazing to know we don't all work at Dunkin Donuts or the local 7/11. The contributions to America by Indian Americans in the fields of medicine, education, science, and business have been well-documented. We’re not asking Sen. Biden to apologize for his embarrassing, stereotypical comments. However, we do appreciate knowing what he really thinks of his Indian-American constituents in Delaware," Dr. Vijay said.

If the remark was not racist, why did Biden apologize??

Hmm, and that first sentance you've made is on topic?

Are you denying that macaca is racist too then? All you need to do is go to your favorite wikipedia to look it up and you'll find it right there.

IT's not an opinion, it's a fact.
