The big news here in Houston is Halliburton pulling it's corporate offices out and moving them to Dubai. The first puzzling aspect of the move was Halliburton's promise that they were not doing this to avoid paying taxes, since Dubai has no tax on corporations. Turns out that the reason for the move is so Halliburton can continue doing business with Iran, which could be illegal here shortly. The really sneaky part of all this is that the only transfer of employees will be that of the CEO to Dubai. So, in the end, we will still have Halliburton in Houston, doing business with Iran, while telling us that they are no longer in Houston, but in Dubai, so they are no longer bound by American laws. Bet they renege on the tax statement too, since it is not in writing.

Companies offices within the US that do business with Iran should be closed, if it indeed becomes legal to do business with Iran.

If it becomes illegal to do business with Iran and Iran is one of Halliburtons clients then Halliburtons Houston office and every other one of their American offices should be shut down until it is legal to do business with Iran once more.

So, now Halliburton will officially be a Dubai company. Doesn't this then represent a leak in national security to a foreign nation as Halliburton has so many governmental contracts and oversees so many confidential governmental runnings?
Seems to me this is treason.

Wait, Uncle D!ck's old company is supporting a member of the "Axis of Evil?" Sounds like a company made up of Unlawful Enemy Combatants. How does this sh!t fly?

A) I heard the exact opposite, that they will still remain incorporated within the U.S. and subject to U.S. law.

B) Why would Halliburton want to stay in a country where the majority part has them on their hit list? This would be like if I had a roomate who continuously insulted me everytime I saw him and then got pissed when I moved out.

Yep I was right they will remain a U.S. coroporation subject to U.S. law:

Nope they will remain incorporated in the U.S..

The reason they're moving their HQ to Dubai is because they do most of their bussiness in the Middle East, IE developing oil, something their not allowed to do in the U.S. mainly thanks to the Democrats and their leftist enviro-Nazi backers. For example China and Mexico will be devoloping oil in the Gulf of Mexico but not us and not Halliburton.

You are exactly correct. This is nothing but liberal whining.

One has to wonder - what happened to the left's previous boogeyman, the Carlyle Group?
