The blogger is filing assault charges against Senator Allen and his staff.

Which leads me to this question - The blogger works for Talking Points Memo, a Liberal publication. Do you think he baited Allen into looking like a thug? I believe that this is a good possibility. What you see on the tape appears to be Allen and his staff acting like thugs against an innocent reporter, but what nobody seems to be saying is that this blogger has been stalking Allen for weeks, and asking some pretty incendiary questions. The election does not look as good for Allen as it once did, and maybe in frustration, his staff took the bait, thus almost ensuring a Democratic victory in that state. Allen still has a chance, but after this incident, his chances dont look as good as they did before.

Was this a Democrat dirty trick, or did Allen's campaign reveal itself to be thugs? You make the call. My call is a little of both, but more of case of a few Democrats setting Allen up.

Democrat "Mission Accomplished"?

Article is here.

Meh, I don't really care whether he was baiting the Allen staff or not. He probably was, but so what? Nevertheless, I'm delighted that it happened. If Virginia elects Webb, it will be because Allen LOST the election, not because of anything Webb did. Allen seems to be in full meltdown mode.

That I agree with. From the macaca statement all the way to today, Allen's campaign has been self-destructing. I now predict Webb wins Virginia, and not because Webb is any kind of a genius, if you get my drift.

What are the odds of the Dems taking the Senate now? My guess would be 50 percent.

Only 29% according to InTrade. The Dems still have an uphill battle in the Senate. They still have to win both Missouri and Virginia (or Tennessee).

Isn't it sad when all a person has to do to get elected is be lazy and watch TV all day while the opponent presses the "self destruct" button on his pwn campaign?

Allen = loser

Everyone knows what platform the GOP has.
What is the Democrats platform?
Without a platform of idea's what is the point of changing one useless and corrupt politician for another of the same albeit with no idea what their party intends doing?

Neither party has a platform of ideas. The only thing resembling ideas that the GOP has offered are "Stay the course," and "Homos make Jesus cry."

So in the absence of any coherent platform for either side, I choose to hold accountable the party that has driven the country into the ground for the past six years.

At this point, my prediction is the Dems will take VA and MO. Ford with his stupid statement in tight *** TN is going to loose unless he can turn things around. Don't know about the NJ race though.

It's completely pathetic, but that's what our society has become today - a society based on highschool popularity contests.

Cowards, we're living in a society of cowards running the country. They will never speak thier mind because they fear they will loose thier power if they do. Allen was just a stupid moron that didn't know any better and started self imploding when he opened his mouth.
But what if he didn't? He'd probably still be in the lead as of now.

How have we gotten to this place today? Because the majority of our countrymen just don't care, and they don't care because they are ignorant. This country even with international war and so on is still completely arrogant of the outside world, how we are lagging behind the rest of the industrialized nations. Instead of focusing on science and engineering we're focusing on which 3rd world baby Angelina Jolie will foster next - or which sports star is bitching that he's not getting enough pay. WAKE UP AMERICA!

I saw the footage, and I did not see the guy touch the Allen people. Their putting him in a headlock was totally unnecessary, and I would, without a doubt, press charges. Sorry, but when this guy didn't use any physical force whatsoever or have the appearance of using physical force, the physical force used by the Allen people is inappropriate, at best. Press charges! It's all on tape.....

So the student asked the Senator if he spit on his first wife and they tackled the student. The divorce court papers are sealed.

Maybe Allen will have to answer that question now. So stupid.

I have a question, besides Iraq, whats the friggin difference between Allen and Webb? Their both plainly conservative. So, if he's elected, he's going to vote with the republicans at least 75-90% of the time.

And it's under investigation! Woo hoo! You can watch the footage from the website posted.

Scuffle at Allen Event Under Investigation

Charlottesville investigators are looking into possible charges as a result of Tuesday's physical confrontation at an Allen campaign stop.

That video of the incident is the centerpiece of an investigation that has much of the country watching. 8News Anchor AJ Lagoe sat down with Charlottesville Police Chief to discuss what's happening.

On Wednesday police served search warrants on the tv stations here in charlottesville that shot this video of the disturbance at senator allen's rally--they're now using the video to determine whether the incident warrants criminal charges. . . .

Among those people who will be interviewed, as a witness to the scuffle, will be Senator Allen himself. . . .

Ahhh, just what Allen needs. LOL!

The difference between cons and libs,

When someone disrupts a conservative speaker, the mantra is that ALL Dems wants to suppress free speech and (here's the difference) it's brought up again and again and again, ad nauseam, as PROOF that ALL Dems want to suppress free speech.

When a liberal is assailed by cons, it is noted as an incident and is demanded that they be held accountable, then it is forgotten and is NOT regurgitated over and over.

That was hilarious!:rofl

It doesn't look to me like he shoved anyone in the video clip. The other things you mentioned are irrelevant.

Kandahar, it's amazing to me how Trajan is able to see things that the video doesn't show. Wow.

Typical Republican response--blame the victim.

You can't tell anything from still-frame pictures; he looks like he might just be trying to regain his balance, or might be reacting after they started being rough with HIM. Watch the video if you haven't seen it already; it gives you a much better view of what happened than a still-frame image does.
