Here is Senator Shelby defending a company that has a monopoly on satellite launches. In an open competition Elon Musk of Space X is telling them he can launch at a fraction of the price, like 300 million less a launch and without a billion dollar subsidy like the monopoly company. Space X is also fully manufactured in the U.S. with U.S. suppliers and the monopoly company is heavily dependent on Russia for one of it's rockets. What is motivating Shelby to protect this company is something else besides being a good steward for American taxpayer money.
