Hah!
If that were true, so many would not feel that they absolutely had to acquit if they wanted to win re-election. Trump carries their* souls in his pocket.

The shifting underscores how Trump's actions have deeply fractured Senate Republicans in the wake of Jan. 6, with GOP senators saying Trump shouldn’t feel vindicated just because he was acquitted of inciting an insurrection.
The president has very badly damaged his reputation. ... He’ll be remembered throughout history as the president who resorted to nonlegal steps to try to hold on to power,” Sen. Pat Toomey (Pa.), one of the seven GOP senators, said.

the acquittal was meaningless, the trial brought a very bright light on a man who sought to overthrow the US government and fractured his own party. The lives lost, the chaos and confusion he brought to this country was all for nothing.
A very sad commentary on a former President of the United State.
Senate GOP ready to turn page on Trump
Republican Party = cowardsMeh. It will come down to placating to the more stupid of their constituents or not. So far, they continue to demonstrate that they are petrified of Trump Nation. Look how McConnel handled it:
1) He declared that Trump is responsible for inciting the attack.
2) He then pushed the hearing off until after Trump left Office.
3) He then argued that it was too late because he left Office.
This is cowardice. But that's the joke, right? The GOP created this mass of ignorance across the nation. They paved the way for a Trump. And they spent four years kowtowing to the traitor because their mob proved far too stupid to recognize bold treachery and simple treason when it reared its ugly head.
- A National Security Advisor felt that he needed to lie about secret meetings with Russians in 2016?
- Revealing classified information to Russia in 2017?
- Defended Russia against America in 2018?
- Asked a foreign government to help him win re-election in 2019?
- Incited his Trump Nation to attack American in 2021?
And what did the mass of Republican Senators do? They shrugged every single time. Thus, the acquittal was not meaningless. It was an indictment of every single Republican who approved of this behavior as allowable for future Presidents. If a Democrat pulls this in the future, they will be sure to call it treason. But make no mistake. They have Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon (resigned before), and now Donald Trump in their conservative history. They are the only ones who seem to tap into such treachery and betrayal at the White House level. If they, especially McConnell, wanted to be sincere about a GOP shift, they should have declared it by impeaching Trump.
There was no attempted insurrection. Since a lot of the left seems to be living in a bubble where they actually believe a legit putsch occurred then maybe there needs to be talk of deprogramming leftists of their cult indoctrination.Given that the Senate GOP largely just endorsed Trump's insurrection attempt, I don't think "turning the page" is an option.

You clearly did not see what happened on Jan. 6th, I can only guess that you do not see a failed insurrection as a crime. Some people clearly never want to admit they were wrong, so they keep doubling down with the excuses. Digging the hole deeper and deeper.Clear deflection.
Get off your knees, remove the Trump altar, and then maybe you can use the words 'cult' or 'bubble' without the vast majority of America laughing at you.
I will not be lectured by a Globohomo leftist as to what conservative means.Clear deflection.

While you are at it, ask somebody to help you understand conservatism. Conservatism is not Trump. The man dared you to open a dictionary for four years and you still choose to remain on your knees.

Blah blah blah blah.Funny how the "very conservative" are the most hopeless of them. They confuse their idea of conservatism with far-Right or alt-Right instincts, where Trump made them feel comfortable about themselves.
Trump was very good at telling them that their failures in life were not their fault. Instead, globalist, elites, affirmation action, illegal immigration, etc. were to blame and only he was looking out for them.Funny how the "very conservative" are the most hopeless of them.
