The Trump administration’s move to ease sanctions on firms owned by Oleg Deripaska is now likely to go forward.

WASHINGTON ― Most Senate Republicans voted on Wednesday against the enforcement of sanctions on several companies tied to Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Eleven Republicans broke ranks with party leadership and the Trump administration by voting with Democrats to advance the measure, but it failed to garner the necessary 60 votes needed to break a filibuster. It garnered 57 votes; all 42 senators voting against it were Republicans.

I thought it was only Trump who was Putin's lap dog, going out of his way to give him what he wants for Russia at a dizzying pace: hand over classified intel, withdraw troops from Syria, pull out of the NATO, destabilize the U.S. economy, etc. The list gets longer by the day. But now it seems that a majority of Republican senators are also in league with the Russian strongman & today gave one of his oligarch allies a big fat (and undeserved) present.

American Conservatives/Republicans want the USA to be more like Putin's Russia than the other way around.

They have become what we once fought against to defeat in war.

They're trying now to import it to the United States via the Republican party and have reached the White House.

Forty-two Republican senators are supporting Putin-Trump now. There's little if any doubt there are several of their brethren on the Supreme Court too.

A divided Scotus, the House and the Pentagon are defending the faith however and they will prevail. Have no doubt of it.
