Now here's the real McCain. Yes, he would have been a total disaster as President.

I guess like Obama, Mccain thinks partisan differences are really just petty grievances, huh?

I wonder how he squares that with his disagreement with Obama's policies?

His campaign obviously took a large toll on him. I don't think he is fit, physically, to be President of the United States. And I'd rather watch the Communist Party of America take the Presidency then Sarah Palin.

McCain did not seem like his normal-self until his speech at the end of the election. I think he will once again be a great, if not the greatest, player in the Senate. His time for Presidency was 4 or 8 years ago, not this election.
 
I think McCain will be the new leader of the Obammunist faction of the Senate.

WHich is why I voted for him over George Bush in the primary eight years ago.

Understandable, not your fault - unless we want to amend the 26th amendment.

I admit to voting for Bush in the general in 2000, but I voted for Badnarik in 2004. I couldn't in good conscience vote for Kerry. At least in 2008, we had two good, honorable men to choose from.

Wow. Your profile says you are Very Conservative. Then you are very different then most other conservatives here, they mostly bash our President, while you, you actually respect him. :mrgreen:

And on topic, I didn't really mind McCain, I just didn't agree with his Iraq, oil, or economic policies, and I couldn't stomach the idea of SArah Palin running the country when he finally dies of old age.

No way it proves what a sellout hypocrite he is, a fair weather friend, an opportunist and one lousy campaigner....hey maybe he should run again in 2012?
 
I've always liked McCain and wish him nothing but the best. I wish it were him that got the nomination in 2000, and in hindsight, I bet many others think the same.

There is a lot I don't agree with him on, but yes, I respect him. I think he is a good, decent man with a wonderful story and a great family. I admire the job they have done with their daughters and I hope mine are as level headed and well thought out at there age as Malia and Sasha are.

Though, McCain was right about the Iraq surge and warned about the problems with Freddie and Fannie before they collapsed.

I felt that way then, and yes, I feel that way even now after eight years of Bush. I believe McCain would have handled the post 9/11 environment and Iraq better than Bush did.
