Sen. Rand Paul: Illegal immigrants should be allowed to obtain legal status

Isn't Rand Paul a Libertarian? I don't think Libertarians are against legal immigration.

I don't think many people area against legal immigration.

Rand Paul has now become one of those politicians that has committed political suicide, but will be around for an annoyingly long time because the liberal media will now keep that body warm for as long as possible.

Then how the heck did his father stay in office so many years?

so now you and rand paul are wanting to reward them for their illegal acts

Paul endorsed a "pathway to citizenship." Hardly the same thing as "reward."

Always remember that, when debating, you are NEVER going to change the mind of the person you are debating, Your opponent is NEVER going to change his position.

Many of my views have changed thanks to debate forums like this one. I think that is a very cynical (and unrealistic) view you have there.

Didn't Reagan give amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants in the 80s?

WAS HE A RINO TOO !?!?

Don't you dare speak blasphemy of the holy one!

i'm not sure that he did:
he only wants non-citizens here to take the low wage jobs that would otherwise be performed by American citizens:

No, Reagan made the mistake of thinking the Liberal Congress would uphold their concurrent promise to secure the border.

Reagan had his flaws, but being ignorant of division of labor between the branches of government was not one them. He knew that securing the border is not a job of the legislative.

we are now overrun with Mexicans.

I know! They cook for us, they garden for us, move our furniture, buikld our houses, harvest our vegetables...Terrible. Worse than the Mongol Horde.

after Reagan provided amnesty, less Hispanics voted for Reagan than before amnesty.

Wow. I've heard about "Speedy Gonzalez", but I had no idea Hispanics could move back in time! (Reagan signed the Immgration Reform and Control Act on November 6, 1986. The second election Reagan won was on November 4. Of 1984).

That's what I always thought. Before looking closer at the organizations like the NumbersUSA, the FAIR, the CIS (Center for Immigration Studies)...

.

Keep going, that's only a partial list of the jobs you've stolen from good American families. No wonder your own country wanted to get rid of you.

Love you too.

Your ignorance of basic economics is especially endearing.

While I like Rand, I think he is splitting hairs. It seems his idea would allow undocumented workers to stay in the US legally and eventually be able to apply for citizenship.

But whether you agree with his stance or not, it still has nothing to do with "rewards."
