Selling Fear and Catastrophe to Those who Supposedly Love Freedom

Not any less stupid than thinking men who find Atheism and Abortion to be major issues worth defending are somehow gay.

I am agnostic and support abortion but it doesn't rate high enough to want to see gun bans or tax hikes

THe true genius of Trump is convincing those who say they are self-reliant and free that they need a strongman. What has become of Conservatism?

Trump is the Right's Messiah. And, that is, simply put, a damned shame.

Seventy Two percent (72%) of Likely U.S. Voters think the country is heading in the wrong direction, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey for the week ending July 14.

Clinton represents the status quo. She will continue with Obama policies.

Trump represents the outsider, anti-establishment, a new direction. The voters are "pissed" on boths side of the aisle. Trump is plain speaking, non-PC he has connected with middle class working America.
Left leaning folks said the speech was dark, horrible........ The same people who said Trump would be the first one gone in the Primary. They were oh so wrong.

A poll from CNN last night: “56 percent more likely to vote for Trump post speech. 75 percent positive reaction –

Clinton only needs 59 electoral votes to win....whereas Trump needs 106....

And 56% will be more likely to vote for Hill of Beans after she gives her speech, with a 75% positive reaction. You never heard of the convention bump?

Oh, that's s not true at all. The reason Trump has no chance of getting elected is because a huge chunk of conservatives rejected hi. The National Review for one glaring example.
There are so many others who didn't go near the RNC conventions.

No such thing will happen with Hillary Clinton. Oh there were a few pretenders when Sanders was running but they all folded when he sold out.
"The ends justify the means" is way more descriptive of the left than the right.

Been hearing this same rhetoric since he had no chance of being nominated.

That's a fair point. But it ain't gonna happen.

a few more terrorist attacks in the USA or Europe can help Trump immensely. if the focus of the low wattage sheep is fear of terrorism, that really hurts Cankles

you mean like what is happening as we speak?

I wouldn't be so sure. Granted I think with witch will probably win, but people espousing that Trump doesn't have a chance in hell already have half a plate of egg on their face.

One has to wonder if this country will choose to follow a fear driven, hate cult. If this stuff sells during relatively prosperous times, we're in big trouble.

It seems much like the Know Nothings, about a century ago.

Few people see Hillary as their Messiah. I wish I could say that about Trump.

I still can't understand why so many people believe that they were better off 8 years ago than we are today. How disconnected from reality must one be to think that way?

Sad thing is Trump is clueless while "Cankles" at least has had some experience dealing with terrorists. Trump knows how to build casinos in Atlantic City and towers in Chicago and NYC. What the hell does that have to do with understanding national security matters?

really? Hillary's experience with a terrorist might be bearing the child of one.

Hillary.......................they want to take you back to Jim Crow.

Biden..................They want to put you back in chains.

You got anything else besides crazy rhetoric , or does the right wing own it?

Sure and Trump has not gotten his yet!!

We can't wait for her speech.......................... Not!

I think Trump's base in the republican party is still probably only around 30%. People are supporting him now because he's the nominee and if given a choice between he and Hillary, a lot of people will be choosing him - not because of demagoguery - or to be more accurate - not more than the usual amount of demagoguery that politicians including leftist weenies put out.

Yeah, but Democrats are supposed to want a nanny state. You guys are supposed to hate it. We used to be able to count on that division to keep us safe from falling down the abyss. When both parties begin to demand a tyrant to save them from the boogieman, we are in deep ****.

Well, since Hillary just chose a guy who may as well be Republican, maybe a few of the never trumpers will switch sides. Looks like Kasich is actively undermining Trump in Ohio. I wonder if Rubio will do the same in Florida.

All I know for sure is that Hillary just took a big fat dump on the Lefties. I'm sure that was calculated.

I'll have to research this guy. If he's a moderate or slightly right then he's a good pick. Obama abandoned the far let also. Its the smart move.
