Why not attend..after all it has the best Suprme Court Justices that CORP Money can buy.

< A secretive network of Republican donors is heading to the Palm Springs area for a long weekend in January, but it will not be to relax after a hard-fought election — it will be to plan for the next one.>

<The participants in Aspen dined under the stars at the top of the gondola run on Aspen Mountain, and listened to Glenn Beck of Fox News in a session titled, “Is America on the Road to Serfdom? >

Gotta get the ole brain washed.

<To encourage new participants, Mr. Koch offers to waive the $1,500 registration fee. And he notes that previous guests have included Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas of the Supreme Court, Gov. Haley Barbour and Gov. Bobby Jindal, Senators Jim DeMint and Tom Coburn, and Representatives Mike Pence, Tom Price and Paul D. Ryan.

Mr. Koch also notes the beautiful setting. But he advises against thinking of this as a vacation.

“Our ultimate goal is not ‘fun in the sun,’ ” he concludes. “This is a gathering of doers who are willing to engage in the hard work necessary to advance our shared principles. Success in this endeavor will require all the help we can muster.” >

Great, hope they have a wonderful time and do "advance" shared principles of free enterprise, capitalism, and individual wealth creation vs. what we have right now, the Marxist Party promoting their own agenda of keeping power by making people dependent. As Europe abandons their own socialist model, the empty suit in the WH is promoting that agenda here and the leftwing Marxists are doing their best to convince the majority in this country that model works. The ignorance of the non Marxists people that buy the Obama rhetoric is quite staggering.

Actually thinking they're fighting communism. Mass delusion, hysteria, political dementia? WTF is it?

Oh, I don't know, could be costs of National Healthcare, efforts to redistribute wealth, abandonment of support for free enterprise and capitalism, higher unemployment each month of 2010 vs. 2009, a belief that allowing taxpayers to keep more of their money through tax cuts is an expense to the Federal Govt, 3 trillion added to the debt in just two years, and a tone deaf empty suit President whose goal is to change this country into a European style country that has yet to succeed.

Ha, there isn't a Marxist in the White House. However, one could consider Koch a plutocrat.

(I knew you couldn't resist coming back, you signed on to DP several times while you were on vacation.)

President is not responsible for adding $3 trillion to the debt, your hero President Bush is responsible for much of it. When President Obama entered the WH there was a $1.3 trillion deficit waiting for him.

plus a recession plus two unfinished wars.

And yet I doubt these heroes of self-reliance and the American way will push for the discontinuation of corporate welfare policies. The only kind of welfare state these people will be happy with is one that is ordered around supporting the wealthy.

Sorry but that is wrong, deficits are yearly and Bush was in office only 4 months of fiscal year 2009. He left 350 billion of the TARP money for Obama to spend and Bush had nothing to do with the stimulus program. There is no way that the 1.3 trillion deficit was created in 4 months. Tell me what Obama did with the TARP payback?

Most of the 2009 deficit was Obama's and all of the 2010 deficit was his. You can spin it but you cannot refute actual facts.

What is corporate welfare, companies keeping more of what they earn?

You would be more comfortable at gatherings where Harry Belafonte was the Headliner (??)

you mean the two wars that Obama hasn't ended or the recession that ended last June before any Obama policies really took effect. we see the affects of those this year with economic growth slowing and unemployment higher each month this year vs. last.

In our modern, global economy, corporations only exist because governments support them, directly, through subsidies and protectionist policies, and indirectly, through infrastructure. Businesses can't grow that large otherwise. As such, even if they pay half their income in taxes, they are still making far more money than they would if the government did not support them. Because the business they would otherwise manage would only give them a fraction of the salary a corporation enables.

There are many kinds of corporations, those that you seem to hate are the huge corporations which constitute less than 20% of the work force and that corporate welfare that you are concerned about is actually tax reductions from income actually earned by those companies. That seems to bother you, companies keeping more of what they earn. Are you just as concerned about people keeping more of what they earn?

Interesting how some care more about what others make and pay in taxes vs. how much waste, fraud, and abuse there is in our govt. with the tax revenue they take in.

WHAT A JOKE!

If this was a secret meeting you wouldn't know it was taking place and you sure as hell wouldn't know what the topic is going to be.

Fact is California is about to go into full economic melt down because of Radical of Liberals on the California Air Resources Boad who should be in jail or at least run out of the state n a rail for preparing to cause gas prices to go over $9 a gal, charge each driver who uses the freeways to go to work up to $5,000 a year, raise electric bils by over 30% and rive people out of their suburban homes into cities and onto public transportation that does not even exist.

This is pure Liberal BS propaganda, and nothing more.

Why didn't they claim they are being back by secret international funding. Oh yes it's because the Democrats were found to have some foreign funding themselves.

No. All except the smallest businesses are subject to the principle. True, the larger the corporation the larger the benefit, but the growth of any business is proportionate to the ability of the government to provide them with the support system described above.

A market without any government support (except perhaps the most minimal kind of contract enforcement) would be a bunch of small businesses enveloping each other and then disintegrating, and I doubt few would last more then a decade.

These people take most of the support they receive as privileges or entitlements - things they deserve them because they are the ones driving the growth of American society. Meanwhile, any perceived injury to their interests is a great injustice and a blow not just to themselves, but to freedom.

Would you please explain to me that term corporate welfare? Are you saying that the govt. sends checks to those corporations out of the general fund? Or is it simply tax credits that a company can take off its corporate income taxes? All this concern about how much money the govt. gets and not how that money is spent by the govt.

Overpaying defense contractors billions of dollars because the people in charge of awarding those contracts are given multi-million dollar "consulting" jobs once they leave public service?

Doubt that is the definition of corporate welfare however since the Congress has been controlled by Democrats for the past 4 years what did they do to stop that problem? Democrats controlled the entire budget process, voted for the budget, and oversaw the budget. Now we have a totally controlled budget by Democrats and some continue to blame Bush, but only the ignorant ones who don't understand how our govt. works.

It's not a Democrat or Republican issue. It's "who is good buddies with the current guys in charge of these things." Changes in administration just change which particular companies are getting the sweetheart deals.

Very true, it doesn't really matter who is in charge as it happens with both parties. The problem seems to be that many don't seem to understand that plus they ignore facts but instead focus only on rhetoric.
