Got any photos of emaciated Germans? I have seen a few of fat ones, especially the upper ranks. Truth be known, and our government should NOT be proud of this, but the USA protected many of your boys from the Russians, helped them escape/relocate, etc. but once we were done picking their brains for what technology might be useful to us, we cut them loose.
Near the end of the war, the smarter Germans were doing their level best to choose their captors, preferring Americans to Russians. I suppose we could have done more for your people, but we were too busy caring for the starving Jews, and our own underfed troops that had been held as POW's by your people.

Well, I don't have to worry about Europe, I'm having a good time here in the USA flaunting my first ammendment rights whenever I feel like it. Taxes are lower, I can get a gun, and I don't have to pay reparations to anyone.

What do I think about Europe? Yes, they are sliding into state socialism. They don't have the tradition of freedom of speech, and as bad as social problems and race relations seem in the US, we just found out in France that Europe has it worse.

Is any of this comparable to what the nazis did in Germany? Not even remotely close.

I hope you're being sarcastic because that is without a doubt the most simplistic veiw of Europe I have ever heard... except for one guy in Nebraska but he really didn't count because he thought he needed a passport to vist NYC.

That stuff is true and not very controversial. Can you argue that the European tradition of freedom of speech (discounting the UK) is as deeply rooted as it is in the US? Certainly they have adopted poicies that are more socialistic than our own. The socialist parties are very strong over there. Is there something "simplistic" about saying that race relations in France are not really as good as we'd like them to be?

I'm not saying I hate Europe, nor am I trying to cast steriotypes in a black and white fashion, but I'm just laying out some facts here. It's not even important to the discussion at hand. The point is that the nazis abolished all free speech. Well if you put in in those terms you are a little more clear on it. However remember the French revolution that proposed free speech etc... None of our countries are enjoying their finest hour at this moment but the expressed anti-European attitude of many Americans is too often way over the top. I have just come back from Europe and there is a little more "anti"feeling here towards them than there is over there towards us.

Taxes are no a low here as you may think. Everything more or less equals out in the end. As far as guns are concerned there are plenty of the used in the commision of crimes in places like Paris, Madrid or Rome. The main prohibition in Europe is with hand guns. The Spanish for example make some of the finest top of the line shot guns in the world and they are for sale to the public in any "Armeria" in the country. Hand guns are also seen on display in the shop windows of those establishments.

You bet I agree with you on your second point. That person is really over the top. This "Jew-baiting" is a sickness and just as often an excuse for failure. And a couple of questions. Just WHO are his people. He never says. And how are they being oppressed by Jews? I'd like to see some real proof and not all this smoke and mirriors.

While I more or less defended Europe on a few points on the point of anti-semitism I can't. They seem to be more obessed with it than people in the "New World". Of course there are anti-Semitic people in the Americas but most of it I found among recent arrivials. For example, I lived for several years in a Polish and Ukranian neighborhood. You wouldn't believe the commentary I heard there. Most of the people had immigrated to America post WWII or were the first generation born here. They were far more vocal than we, American mutts are. The Jewish people I know have been find upstanding citizens. I can'r understnad Ayrans ranting to be more than some cover for an inferiority complex which in itself is ridiculous from my point of view.
