A professional referee says in a lawsuit filed Thursday that disgraced doctor Richard Strauss masturbated in front of him in a shower after a wrestling match at Ohio State University, and he reported the encounter directly to Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, who was then the assistant coach.

“Yeah, that’s Strauss,” Jordan and then-head coach Russ Hellickson replied, according to the lawsuit, when the referee, identified in court papers as John Doe 42, told them about the incident. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Ohio, implies that Jordan's response to the incident, which the referee said happened in 1994, was essentially a shrug.

What is it with former wrestling coaches who became Congressmen from the midwest? Sex abuse seems like part of process.

If that is the case, that is disgraceful and he should not have ignored the abuse.

However, I must ask, what power did Jordan have in this matter? Did the students who confided in him expect him to report it and he then did nothing? Or did they simply tell him this, getting it off their chest, but without expectation that anything be done to save them from further humiliation?

Interesting. 1994?

It is more of a cultural issue.

You do not want to necessarily ruin the child's life by disclosing this information publicly. Imagine the shame and stigma that the child must live with for the rest of his life.

wow. the ref testified to that in court.

Does it ever seem odd to anyone that these revelations only come out when someone democrats hate kick up some dust? They are always decades old and really only based on one persons say so with no other witness that can confirm the specific claims.

It doesn't really matter if the Democrats pushed or even threatened the referee to testify. It is true. That's the problem.

i wonder which side that God Fearing Republicans will take on this testimony. It did affect young people that they've always preached that need to be protected from bad people.

I'm not surprised to see something like this come back into the news cycle. I've always thought it was strange that Republicans put so much faith into Jim Jordan. He isn't very effective at his job and he has this whole mess following him around.

The timing is beyond obvious. This was chambered until Jordan was set to jump onto a committee and unleash whoopass on the Democrats' coup to remove Trump. Dems must be desperate.

You must have missed the news about the media protecting Democrats by spiking the Epstein and Weinstein stories.

It's called whistleblowing.

The Ohio State University encourages all faculty, staff, students and volunteers, acting in good faith, to report suspected or actual wrongful conduct. The university is committed to protecting individualsfrom interference with making a protected disclosure and from retaliation for having made a protected disclosure or for having refused an illegal order as defined in this policy. University faculty, staff, students, or volunteers may not retaliate against an individual who has made a protected disclosure or who has refused to obey an illegal order. University faculty, staff, students, or volunteers may not directly or indirectly use or attempt to use the official authority or influence of their positions or offices for the purpose of interfering with the right of an individual to make a protected disclosure to the individual’simmediate supervisor or other appropriate administrator or supervisor within the operating unit, or other appropriate university official about matters within the scope of this policy. It is the intention of the university to take whatever action may be needed to prevent and correct activities that violate this policy

I know things like duty, honor, etc. have literally no meaning to so-called conservatives and Trump supporters, but one time, long ago, before this crook Trump took office, there were people, sometimes called Republicans, sometimes called conservatives, who had an actual moral compass, and knew the difference between right and wrong. They believed in notions such as duty, honor, country. These people when they saw something wrong they would feel compelled, due to a moral obligation, to call out wrongs where they saw them.

They are gone now. An extinct species. Some say they sold their souls to the devil. Some say they lost their spines. But, regardless, none have been seen since Trump assumed office.

Former OSU wrestler in jail again - News - The Columbus Dispatch - Columbus, OH

Former Ohio State University wrestler Dunyasha M. Yetts has been jailed again over allegations that he has substantial sums of money he hasn’t reported to his probation officer. Yetts, 41, was arrested on Friday in his hometown of Steubenville, Ohio, after five investors complained to government agencies that he hadn’t returned money they had given him to invest.

Yetts, 41, was arrested on Friday in his hometown of Steubenville, Ohio, after five investors complained to government agencies that he hadn’t returned money they had given him to invest.

He was in front of U.S. District Court Magistrate Norah McCann King yesterday for a preliminary detention hearing. After Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura Fulton and defense attorney Sam Shamansky spoke, King ordered Yetts detained until a hearing before a federal judge.

Problem is it was decades ago and peoples stories often tend to change over time. This seems to be particularly true in the case of issues that involve political persons who are involved in high profile events. Kavanaugh is a great example, the woman did not have one piece of collaborative evidence from even her best friend.
You don't know that Jordan didn't pass the information along to the next level and someone higher up dropped the ball.
Bottom line is this reeks of politics and nothing more.

jim jordan is a thorn in the side of leftist and calling them out for what they are doing so as usual they go to leftist tactic 101.
only thing we can do is just dismiss these people folks they are no longer worth listening too.

SEC CHARGES OHIO MAN WITH DEFRAUDING INVESTORS AND OPERATING UNREGISTERED BROKERAGE; SEC ALSO ACTS TO PREVENT BANKRUPTCY DISCHARGE

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced that today it filed a civil injunctive action in federal district court in Columbus, Ohio accusing Dunyasha M. Yetts and his unregistered broker-dealer, Worldwide Financial Group, Inc., of defrauding at least fourteen investors of approximately $1.8 million from 1998 through early 2001. In a related action, the Commission also today filed a separate complaint in United States Bankruptcy Court in Columbus, Ohio, where Yetts is a debtor, seeking to prevent the discharge of a substantial portion of Yetts' indebtedness, approximately $1.8 million, incurred through securities fraud.

What the Left doesn’t want you to know about Jim Jordan’s accusers

What the Left doesn’t want you to know about Jim Jordan’s accusers - Conservative Review

“I am very distressed to hear that Mike DiSabato’s displaced personal vendetta has led to hostility filled accusations that Jim Jordan turned a blind eye to ANYTHING, let alone sexual abuse,” the emailed statement from Karen Mendoza also reads. “Long before Jimmy was a public servant, he lived the example of a man that Ray wanted to grow into with his own family.”

George Pardos, a wrestler during Jordan’s coaching tenure turned Marine Corps veteran, says that the allegations are bunk.

“For Jimmy to know that this was going on and not do anything about it, it wouldn’t happen. It’s completely out of character,” Pardos told The Hill. “I’ve had dinner at his house, worked out with him. This didn’t happen.”

Pardos also accused his former teammates of trying to line their pockets through sexual abuse allegations following the $500 million settlement that Michigan State University struck with hundreds of victims of gymnastics coach Larry Nassar earlier this year.

“After Larry Nassar, everyone is seeing dollar signs,” Pardos said. This is important to keep in mind, since the two named accusers have a clear history of financial problems.

If the allegations against Jordan seem suspicious, it’s not hard to see why. Jordan’s accusers do not have credible records of honest dealing. The investigation into Strauss’ abuse ought to continue uninhibited, and Jordan has a responsibility to help the investigators in any way he can. But Jordan’s accusers, especially those with a history of defrauding others for personal gain, ought not to be uncritically believed before the congressman has had a fair hearing.

So, turning a blind eye to sexual assault is ok because....Republican.
