Let us say hypothetically Scotland got it's independence and became a sovereign state.
Is there a 0% chance that Scotland could join the EU on it's own?

I'm sure they could join.
That is one way to have a first thread.
Assuming for a moment that Scotland gained Independence, there is no real reason for the EU to not let them join.
May not be easy, but... it could happen.
Do you think the chances would be very slim?

They could join.. would take time, but sure they could join. Automatic membership wont happen.
Will there be a waiting list? A heard the waiting list theory is a myth is this true?
They are going to be put on a waiting list and put through a rigorous system. Someone said the EU will not let them in at all.
But I want to know if this is actually true. Due to the fact that a vast majority of Scotland voted to stay in the EU.
Spain will fight against it tooth and nail.
Wait, “someone said the EU will not let them in at all” and you are asking us to tell you if that is true or not?
Who is this someone that said this? Then perhaps them we’ll have something to discuss on the assumption that someone went far enough to say why.
What some of us are saying here is we do not see the reason why the EU would not accept an Independent Scotland but we are also saying it will not be easy (because frankly it is not easy anyway.)
The point is for you to open a thread asking us to support or deny a “someone” with no reference to who that is or some story we can evaluate is rather nonsensical.
Why do you think a hypothetical Independent Scotland should or should not be accepted by the EU? (At least give us that to discuss.)

LOL no.
There are conditions that need to be met. Budget, legal and so on. Scotland should be able to meet them somewhat easily. Only issues is how it handles its independence since it gets a big portion of its income from the UK.. so...
Then there are the political.. you need all members to agree. This is where it can be tricky, since several member states have rebellious regions that could exploit Scotland getting membership.
