John Pennington of Walton, Kentucky was arrested in Banff, Alberta for allegedly breaking the quarantine laws, twice.

Access Denied

"Accused of violating a Canadian quarantine act — twice — could cost a Kentuckian $750,000, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police."

"John Pennington of Walton was found breaking COVID-19 regulations when he was at an Alberta hotel, Cpl. Tammy Keibel told McClatchy News. The next day, Pennington was spotted at a popular Canadian tourist attraction, leading to his arrest, Keibel said."

... and? (This is the approach Canada took on this, the onus is on Pennington to quit breaking those laws in the nation he is visiting even if just a pass through to Alaska.)

Let me guess...he's a Trump supporter.

He shouldn't worry because Mr. Trump is going to pardon him.

Yes, but what about his 'FREEDOM!!'? Good, let the idiot be bankrupted. Here in England we're talking £3000+ fines for not observing mask-wearing regulations. Excellent; hit the ignorant selfish bastards where it hurts.

I have friends who are Canadian Customs and Immigration Officers.

They all have stories to tell about how someone, standing in a Canadian Customs office which was located on Canadian soil, vociferously complained about how their "Second Amendment Rights" were being violated as their guns were confiscated after they had entered Canada without a Canadian PAL (Possession and Acquisition License) or RPAL (Restricted weapons Possession and Acquisition Licence) and after denying that they were in possession of any firearms when checking in at the border entry kiosk.

If one could work out the mechanics, I suspect that one could make a reasonable living providing "bonded storage" facilities for those firearms (which would only be returned to their owner when their owner returned to the United States of America) - even after splitting the charges with the Canadian government (and paying taxes on the portion that you got to keep [although I'd push for that money to be "tax free" since the government was already getting its cut]).

And yet California issued a mask mandate on June 18. Two months later they have even more daily cases (4000 per day) and even more deaths than they had two months ago. We have oodles and oodles of the young protesting, going to bars, and going to beaches. And yet you pull out ONE case from Kentucky.

I guess those folk need to learn that their US 'rights' stop at the Canadian border.

Did you know that "Alberta" and "Kentucky" are not the same. In fact, by shortest major road link, they are 3,586 km apart.

This had nothing to do with masks. Read the report before you reply to it, why dont'cha.
