Scientific American Endorses Joe Biden - Scientific American

Scientific American has never endorsed a presidential candidate in its 175-year history. This year we are compelled to do so. We do not do this lightly.

The evidence and the science show that Donald Trump has badly damaged the U.S. and its people—because he rejects evidence and science. The most devastating example is his dishonest and inept response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which cost more than 190,000 Americans their lives by the middle of September.

The pandemic would strain any nation and system, but Trump's rejection of evidence and public health measures have been catastrophic in the U.S. He was warned many times in January and February about the onrushing disease, yet he did not develop a national strategy to provide protective equipment, coronavirus testing or clear health guidelines.

trump is waging an all-out war on science and expertise. His lies, his distortions, and his cover-ups have cost many human lives. And Scientific American knows it.

Journalists against Trump. What a shocker.

Joe Biden, in contrast, comes prepared with plans to control COVID-19, improve health care, reduce carbon emissions and restore the role of legitimate science in policy making. He solicits expertise and has turned that knowledge into solid policy proposals.

And on the other hand you've got Trump, whose know-nothing-ism and magical thinking crashed the economy and got tens of thousands of Americans killed.

Trump to his base is like covid19. They won't believe he's bad for them until his craziness affects them negatively.

Glad that smart people are speaking loudly.

Scientific american hires a raging progressive as editor in chief and the first thing she does is breaks the magazines tradition of remaining apolitical by endorsing biden.
Anyone wondering who laura helmuth is,
She is a woke white female who got her phd at berkley and was a beat reporter for the wapo and slate. She is about as partisan of a person you can find.
