Schiff: Trump may face ‘real prospect of jail time’

His "payments" broke several federal laws regarding campaign finance disclosure, bank fraud, and conspiracy. Petty as it was, it's a bigger crime than what Clinton was impeached for.

And as for his hotel project in Moscow, I have to laugh at the conservatives that screamed from the roof tops that Clinton couldn't be trusted because of a foundation she owns, which she never once taken a dime from for herself, but yet turn a blind eye to Trump dangling hotel deals to foreign adversaries, and then lying about it for two years.

It just goes to show the hysterics about the Clinton's were never about corruption, but pure politics.

The idea that Trump paying off McDougal and Daniels was some kind of campaign finance fraud is rather far fetched. Trump was a well known national figure well before the campaign and paying these woman off would be SOP for such an individual. People will talk about the timing as being "proof" of Trump's intent but they neglect to consider that the only reason the accusations came out was, in all likelihood, the campaign. It was, in fact, McDougal and Daniels who tried to make this a campaign issue while it was actually a personal matter between them and Trump.

The only "TDS" going on is by the Trump base when they actually believe what Trump tells them.

How quickly people forget that Trump was the leader of the racist Birther Movement.

"civility"? Maybe if you're a White Supremacist or supporter.

It's not far fetched, it's exactly what Michael Cohen himself confessed to doing.

When the Don decided to run for office, he signed up for complete transparency, whether he realized it or not. The tactic of "paying people off" in any regard was no longer a legal option for Trump once he ran for office.

Furthermore, the way the money was funneled through Cohen's law firm, demonstrates without a shadow of a doubt that the Trump organization was trying to conceal their own role in the payments, and that proves that they knew what they payments were for.

The funny thing? All these idiots had to do was say the payments were a financial gift to the women, and they wouldn't be in any of this trouble.

Civility?

**** Civility.

We in revolution territory if his ass doesn't end up in jail.

Imagine the riots in France, now imagine that only with millions more people.

And yes to all you pearl clutching conservatives, property will be damaged during this riot. *Gasp* "Not the property" Yes, property.

And no one cares about "What about..."

There is nothing Trump can do to change hearts and minds. No facts anyone can share to mend the broken fences. No logic that can be applied to de escalate the situation.

At this point, the US should divorce itself and split into two ****ing countries. Not because of Donald Trump. But because of his supporters. Donald is just the front man for them. The real enemy.

He has shown everyone that those who follow him are twisted and corrupt. That their value system actively opposes those of normal Americans. And that they would sell out their own country just to feel like they are in charge.

Trump supporters disgust me.

I hope there is a civil war.
Wow! Just Wow! What a horrible thought a civil war? Just remember which side has all the guns. Trust me a civil war is nothing anyone should ever want. I know in your mind you have convicted Trump already but what happens if Mueller can’t find any crimes that Trump has committed? Just because the SDNY think Cohen committed an election finance crime does not mean it will hold up in court. Gray HArt had much more evidence that he had a done donate money to cover up n affair and he was found not guilty. Trump giving his own. Money to cover up an affair is totally legal.

Waaayyy too overboard. Bring a back a bit.

You appear to support theft of land, labor, and oppose those who reject such. Dismiss equal justice and supporting the suppression of free speech is a dark path we already know leads to tragedy. We can find this out by digging through history. And it takes a special effort digging with all the progressive revisionists obfuscating as best they can.

Yours is the outraged cry of the thief as he is interrupted from his ongoing mugging. Good people know this for what it is.....

Add onto that is to call for blood in the streets(" I hope for a civil war").

When defining disgusting behavior perhaps a mirror may be required for your analysis.

An interesting lecture.

Dinesh is a crook that got pardoned by trump.

Well that apparently is not true. The whistle blowers from within the Foundation have been commingling foundation funds apparently Bill is pretty bad about it. The IRS is investigating them now.

They both saw. It as a opportunity to make more money off the situation.

We know
1- Trump publicly invited Russia to help him in his campaign which would violate the law
2- Russians contacted Trump campaign officials and offered to help Trump in the election which would violate the law
3- Trump campaign officials eagerly accepted the offer to help Trump in the election and that was violation of the law
4 - Russia did help in the campaign and helped Trump and that violated the law
5- Trump repeatedly and often lied about all the above trying to deceive the American people
6- Trump ordered illegal payments made as part of the campaign and that violated the law
7 - Trump conspired to obstruct illegally justice with several different actions resulting from the campaign

Sound like his goose is cooked.

None of that ever happened, if it did PROVE IT

D'Souza is convicted felon, a liar and a conman. Why would anyone put stock in what such a person has to say?

They both saw. It as a opportunity to make more money off the situation.

And Trump saw it as something he could lie to the American people about. Again. For the literally thousandth time.

Good. If he broke the law, he should go to jail.

As we have seen with the Clinton's, once our politicians lose, or leave office, they are rarely prosecuted, and jailed...That's just not the image this country has ever wanted to send, that we jail our former Presidents, etc....

Is that changing? Has TDS finally broken through the veneer of civility between the two parties to unleash certain players that think it would be a good thing for America to have opposing political parties sending their opposition to jail?

If so, and if this is the "fundamental transformation" that Obama was speaking of when he was elected, then we are on a saddening path...God help us....
IMO if justice was applied evenly, a huge number of people currently in power would never have made it that far.

I include those on both "sides".

Presidents should not be immune tot he law. The image of ignoring crimes just because a person is in politics is far worse than the image that we jail or former presidents. Trump and a large number of his accomplices including his family should be in prison.

I believe the answer to both your questions are yes. The left thinks that when it's their side facing the same thing they will be able to switch it back to the way it was before Trump and sadly they may be right.

I hope it doesn't go back. I hope every person who gets into politics is looked into and if they are corrupt I hope they are dealt with. America needs to hold its politicians to the highest possible standard and stop closing our eyes because of political loyalty to a party.

Clinton was impeached for, among other things, attempting to influence the testimony of Betty Curie and Monica Lewinsky regarding the affair they obstructing justice by lying about those attempts.
Penis gossip with women the right wouldn't hesitate to call bitches and hoes if it involved a modern Republican president.

Sent from Trump Plaza's basement using Putin's MacBook.

Points 1 through 6 verifiably happened. And although we can reasonably surmise that point 7 happened, we need to wait on a report by Mueller to detail a pattern of behavior that supports a conclusion of obstruction of justice.

You know perfectly well that the first six points happened, and are just gas lighting him to waste his time.

It’s not about one party criminalizing the other. It’s about tRump committing criminal acts.

Wait. The fact that Trump may be a foreign agent installed by a hostile foreign power is somehow Obama's fault?

Schiff’s opinion may be correct; imo, voicing this, at this time, is counterproductive....

He got a full pardon therefore his record was expunged and that means he is not a convicted felon and he has no record of a felony conviction.
