2008 is calling. It wants you back.

Even though they are out of office, they still have influence. And like I said, the media and academia follow the Alinskyite example to this day.

Guess some folks need their boogeymen.

Have a nice evening.

I remember reading that back in the day when I read Alinsky’s books— Lucifer as an early radical. I think when I saw him speak that Saul also mentioned that Lucifer challenged the established order. What of it? Cesar Chavez, went on religious fasts, his workers carried banners of Our Lady of Guadalupe in their marches, and Chavez was a follower of Alinsky’s teaching.

Oh, and Alinsky also greatly admired St. Paul, calling him one of the great organizers.

Then again, the Obama’s and the Clinton’s could be actual spawn of Satan. Or Christians, depending which part of Alinsky’s character affected them. Name your poison.

Considering that Alinsky was Hillary Clinton’s mentor that she personally knew, and that Obama studied his techniques, Alinsky is still very relevant. The man is largely kept quiet about by the media and academia, but they study his techniques avidly.

Alinsky is extremely relevant. Even the Tea Party owes something to his teachings. He was a great strategist, great American. He worked against racial discrimination in employment and housing well before national civil rights laws.

Naturally, Saul as his first name and the -sky at the end of his surname and his Jewishness make him ripe for the right wing to pick as a bogeyman.

I don't know why conservatives worship Saul Alinsky.

You know they've got nothing when they trot out Alinsky for the millionth time.

You know they've got nothing when they forget the fact that the Tea Party AND Team Trump adopted Alinsky's book long ago.
Dick Armey of FreedomWorks made ALL FW associates read R4R cover to cover.

The R4R book is about TAKING POWER, not deploying it for leadership, it is strictly about overturning establishment power structures and nothing else. Once a group or party ACHIEVES power, then it is time to put Alinsky away, which is what the left did well over half a century ago.

The Right cannot seem to figure out that once you're in power, you must learn to govern with grace, class and ethics.
The Alinsky book doesn't even touch on leadership techniques and guidelines because it wasn't ever meant to.

A recycling plant turns wood, paper and packaging waste into bulk substrate, and it turns glass into raw ground product, and it turns plastic into pellets. But a recycling plant makes no effort whatsoever in MANUFACTURING anything FROM these products.
The analogy is the fact that expecting R4R to be a guide to exercising power is like expecting the recycling plant to manufacture new finished products from the raw materials that they broke down.

Yeah, and he worked for the Al Capone mob who were thieves and murderers. He openly admitted that Frank Nitti was a mentor of his.

Um, was an admitted man of the far left. What does the Tea Party have to do with the left?

One of Alinsky’s key principles of organizing was to “work inside of the experience” of people you are trying to win over. Naming themselves the Tea Party was in accord with that principle, as it’s obviously a recognizable term for all Americans that explains the character of their organization. Wise move.

And I think it’s somewhat absurd to call Alinsky a man of the “far left.” He quarreled with militant blacks during the 1960s, for example. He did address conflicts between the “haves” and the “have nots,” but that’s as radical as he got. When he saw a bank in a black neighborhood that refused to hire blacks, or even discuss doing so, he used clever tactics involving the community to change that. He didn’t preach nationalizing the bank. He wrote about John L Lewis of the mine workers, not of Lenin.

Yeah right. He was more of a socialist than Bernie Sanders is! What do you think he meant by "radical" when he wrote "Reveille For Radicals" and "Rules For Radicals?" Geez.

He was actually on their staff.
