Biden stopped that " pariah state" nonsense -good. But he needs to do more reversals
Biden has denied various arms sales to the Saudis, withdrawn some U.S. missile defense systems from the kingdom, and removed the Houthi rebels in Yemen –which have been continually attacking the kingdom –from the U.S. list of terrorist organizations.
They see it very much in their strategic interest to do so,” he added. “They told us we have the same threats as Israel, the same allies, and the same enemies – most importantly, specifically, the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

“I have a sense that they have now really thought through the requirements that they need to be able to cross that Rubicon and make a decision like the UAE, like Bahrain and Morocco have done, to actually normalize relations with Israel officially.

The Saudis’ willingness to negotiate a full peace treaty with Israel is extraordinary.
Even more extraordinary is that senior Saudi leaders expressed these comments to a Jewish delegation that recently visited Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia is a vicious tyranny responsible for atrocities worse than anything Russia is doing in Ukraine. They’ve had a detente going with Israel for decades as well, because there’s nothing either state would love more than to see the US invade Iran in the name of “freedom”.

So no, this isn’t all that surprising and no, the US has no obligation to continue to help them slaughter Yemeni fishermen.

i figured youd hit this thread. The only good thing about KSA is it's a check on Iranian hegemony
( where else do you think the Houtis are getting these weapons on the Arabian penninsula?) they are important geopolitical ally -
long of the "special relationship" -and a natural extension to the Abraham Accords

The “special relationship” with Saudi Arabia is hardly special, given the fact they played a massive role in creating the threat we are still dealing with even today.

Furthermore, tinpot tyrants halfway across the region making “peace” with Israel when they never actually went to war with them is not exactly impressive.

And seeing as the Saudis are actively attempting to starve Yemen into submission, complaining about the Houthis hitting back is rather meaningless

The Accords reverse the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative that full diplomatic ties between Israel and the Arab countries would be conditional upon recognition of a Palestinian state- allowing for mutual diplomatic recognition, trade and direct flights.
That's how the peace is guaranteed, and it wasn't the KSA government that funded the madrasas, it was individuals.

Moreover Iran is the threat to regional stability -on reason killing Soleimani was so important is he was a major deal maker
for terrorism, as well as heading the Quds force -their expeditionary mischief making in Syria etc.

The Houthis started the border war and brought in KSA after their border guards were routinely getting killed by them

Soleimani was as much a “terrorist” as the folks who carried out Operation Cyclone. Nothing he did was any different than what the US continues to do.

The Saudi government has been funneling resources to jihadist groups for decades.

Once again, tinpot tyrants halfway across the region making “peace” with Israel when they never actually went to war with them is not exactly impressive.

The Saudis chose to plunge headlong into Yemen. Whining because that choice has consequences is pathetic.

we dont do terrorism, we do stupid interventionism and regime changes. Solei was probably hit in retalliation for the rocket attacks on Kirkuk (killed 4 US servicemen) but he was 'terrorist central' and needed to go.
He also came up wit the IED strategy for Iraq

i'v never seen credible evidence that the Saudi government is financially supporting terrorism ( jihadi groups is undefined)

Im not happy about the bombing of Sana'a etc either, but the Houthis started this round and have also rocketed KSA oil productions Iran is the culprit of all of this

We absolutely do do terrorism, as both Cuba and Nicaragua clearly demonstrate.

Spewing buzzwords can’t change the fact that his actions are effectively identical to standard US operating procedures throughout the Cold War.

. He developed a strategy which hurt our occupation forces. Boo ****ing hoo.

Amazing what you can’t see when you bury your head in the sand.

Nope, the culprit for “all of this” is Saudi Arabia’s vicious attacks on Yemeni civilians born out of embarrassment at the failure of their military to subdue the country despite going on a decade of effort.
