FT.com / Europe - Sarkozy cool on relationship with Obama

Mr Sarkozy has expressed his frustration at the White House’s perceived equivocation over how to deal with Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the priority that Mr Obama attaches to the long-term goal of a world free of nuclear weapons.

Mr Sarkozy’s frustration boiled over in September in a remarkably barbed speech to the UN General Assembly.

“We are right to talk about the future but before the future there is the present, and the present is two major nuclear crises,” Mr Sarkozy said, alluding to Iran and North Korea. “We are living in a real world, not a virtual world,” he added, in a clear dig at Mr Obama’s disarmament ambitions.

The French press often publishes Mr Sarkozy’s unflattering comments about Mr Obama’s lack of prior government experience, his alleged difficultyhttp://www.debatepolitics.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif in reaching decisions or his domestic electoral setbacks.

...current French frustration is aimed at Washington’s hesitancy or even weakness.
When you agree more often with the French President than the American, you know the situation in America is bad.

“He can play to a habitual anti-American standpoint but not from a position that is fundamentally anti-American.”
Which means... Obama is fundamentally anti-American.

Vive la France (Sarkozy)!!!

.

Policy differences have been compounded by friction over choreography and symbolism. The Elysée still smarts at Mr Obama’s visit to France in June for the commemoration of the D-Day landings, when he declined an additional bilateral event with Mr Sarkozy.

It sounds like Sarkozy still has a hair across his ass because Obama chose not to rub elbows with him to his satisfaction.

We have in our history had some very poor performing people in the White House, and some with little or seemingly no back bone, but never before in our history have we had anyone as bad on all counts as Obama Been Lying, Rank Amateur, Appeaser extraordinaire, Racist, and someone who seems bent on destroying the economy on the way to total usurpation of the Constitution along with his Disciples Reid, Pelosi and the rest of the Dims (no spell error) who flaunt their anti American positions directly in the faces of the "WE THE PEOPLE" and against our wishes.

If anyone expects Obama to do the right thing they must not have watched him up until now. He bows and scrapes to Muslim terrorist sponsor nations with a Rodney King like stance of, "can't we all just get along,"and refuses to call a Muslim terrorist what he clearly is at Ft. Hood.

Obama has put us at greater risk from the outside and has fomented dangerous attitudes here at home with his ultra weak stance on everything except lies about every damn thing he backs. All of which will eventually weaken this Nation even more which seems his goal.

It has never been a goal of mine to agree with anything French does or says since Charles De Gaulle, but times change.

You really believe Sarkozy is that shallow?
He is basically going against the mindset of his own people... the easy course would be to play along, or say nothing... and work the jerk from behind the scenes.

Reality is we have a very weak Presidente, who lives in a virtual world... where his words read from a teleprompter are enough. And they spoke about Bush being in a bubble... LOL.At least he knew history, saw real threats for what they were, and post 911 what they could be if not confronted face on... and acted (with the assistance of Democrats I might add.)

We have someone "Hoping" for "Change" and "Unity"... and that is dangerous.

It's our enemies salivating and saying "yes we can"... and "Now is the time we have been waiting for".

Yea, I think Sarkozy is that shallow.

I don't think you are too concerned with reality if you're trying to convince anyone how great Bush was.
