Christie and Paul’s feud began when, at a forum in Colorado, Christie cautioned against the increasing influence of libertarianism in the Republican party.
“As a former prosecutor who was appointed by President George W. Bush on Sept. 10, 2001, I just want us to be really cautious, because this strain of libertarianism that’s going through both parties right now and making big headlines, I think, is a very dangerous thought,” Christie said
Paul fired back at Christie, saying politicians like Christie are “precisely the same people who are unwilling to cut the spending, and their ‘Gimme, gimme, gimme — give me all my Sandy money now.’ Those are the people who are bankrupting the government and not letting enough money be left over for national defense.”
I have a question. In my estimation, there are things government SHOULD be there for, and on that list is disaster relief, and infrastructure. So why should our government be handing money to corporations that DON'T need any kind of tax break or subsidy, and not helping the communities destroyed by Sandy? How does that make any kind of sense whatsoever.
