Sarah Palin no longer the darling of her own Tea Party.

Soros started Moveon.

No he did not.

One night during the run-up to Clinton's impeachment, Boyd and Blades were at a Chinese restaurant for dinner. They were griping about politics; this being Berkeley, they overheard a nearby couple having the same conversation. A few days later, they emailed a petition to a hundred or so friends calling on Congress to censure Clinton and "move on." Within a week, it had 100,000 signers. Within a month, more than 300,000.

You expect me to take an article on moveon.org that doesn't mention soros at all, as serious? :lamo

Ya'll are just jealous because YOUR sugar daddy decided to sit out this election. :)
The tea party now has it's own George Soros (hopefully). I don't think they have as much money as God though.

no you watch, these hacks will start claiming that because these guys are funding americans for prosperity now, that the tea party was never a grass roots movement.

So there's no organization and no real leadership...

There are groups of organizations that are loosely tied together than within those organizations have more localized groups, each with their own leaderes but no over all national leadership. Yes. That's why its a MOVEMENT not a political party.

So...you cant really tell whose a teabagger and who isnt?

No more than you can tell whose an anti-war ***** or not.

Isn't calling people names fun?

That's...extremely vague

No, its a single bullet point because ... I know this may be shocking ... I'm following the rules of the forum and not cutting and pasting the entire thing thus violating our Fair Use rules. Since I'm actually trying to adhere to Debate Politics rules I simply posted the bullet point for each of the views and left out the actual statements concerning them. That is why I stated EXACTLY that in my post and gave a link to the full document. Perhaps you want to read it, or read my post, or read anything, but I'm sure you're just too busy wanting to spit out insults.

Slightly more specific, getting better.

As above.

Ok, how do you want to achieve that?

As above.

Again with the vague.

As above.

Yet AGAIN with the vague.

As above. You really don't bother to actually READ what people right do you? Its just a chant for you to run off and rant?

I'm sensing a trend here.

So am I. As above.

Replace it with what?

Guess what I'm going to say here

This doesnt even make sense.

I'm sure it doesn't to someone that doesn't bother to read anything that's written.

Vague again.

As above.

Which ones?

As above.

No, it's a frickin' grocery list. This isnt a platform, it's a list of vague ideas that are neither formed nor apparently very well thought out.

No, its bullet points from what I stated is "essentially" the only thing one could attempt to claim as a psuedo-platform for the POLITICAL MOVEMENT of the Tea Party.

Here, this is a political platform
Socialist Party USA

Agree with it or not, it goes into detail, spells out specific steps and goals to take to achieve an end goal. You have a rough draft, I write grocery lists more complicated than that. I love the enthusiasm, but lets see some specific plans

That's not a political platform, that's just a link! You're too Vague!

See, its annoying when people ignorantly respond rather than reading and becoming informed first.

Yes. Congratulations, you found a true "platform". Note also you found an actual POLITICAL PARTY! Notice that I've said...and I know that's difficult because it'd require you to have read through the various posts you're responding to...that the Tea Party, unlike the Socialist Party, is not a POLITICAL PARTY but a group that is a political movement. While a Political Party has to have an official and stated platform, a movement generally does not. They tend to have a general philosophy and ideological view point. As I stated, the Contract from America is the closest thing to that you can find for the Tea Party and the closest thing to an idea and policy statement that is near universally held by the loose grouping known as the Tea Party.

Theory is nice but it isnt a plan.

Correct, its why its in the realm of a political movement, not a political party. Its a generalized view and set of principles with generalized ideas regarding it that provide a baseline for politicians to see what it is that is important to those individuals that represent the movement and what they should use as a foundation to build their legislation and actual plans from.

We know the tea party is grass roots. So do they.
Let them say it was all the Koch bros. Anyone with a brain knows better, and their lies won't change that.
Besides, they're the ones who believe the end justifies the means, so I don't know why they would have a problem in the first place.
The end for them is in Nov.
Even Soros sees that.

so what will life be like for you when no assistance programs are available? can you live without social security, medicare or medicaid?

so what will life be like for you when no assistance programs are available? can you live without social security, medicare or medicaid?

Absolutely. As soon as they write me a check for all the damn money I've paid into those programs, with interest, I'll invest it on my own.

the new yorker?

the New york times?

you thought these agenda driven rags are an unbiased source?

I didn't think anything.

You wanted to know who's money is behind the Tea Party. I gave you the information. You then implied that the entity reporting this information (The Guardian) is a "tabloid rag" (so obviously they must be making it all up!). I then provided additional sources that aren't generally considered to be "tabloid rags" (except perhaps by the voices in your head).

Make of the documented facts whatever you wish. Impugning the messenger doesn't change them in the slightest.

you avoided the second part of my response. why?

Because it's stupid and not worthy of a response. If you'd actually READ the article I originally linked to (or, heaven forbid! do some of your own research to properly educate yourself), you'd know the answer to this. But as you've so kindly shown us, you don't actually read the information provided before you start spouting off.

And how interesting that you have nothing to say about those details you so desperately needed. :lamo

" ...Over the past year Sarah Palin has established herself as the queen of the Tea Party movement. Her endorsements have helped Tea Party candidates oust established Republicans in races across the country.

But even among the hardcore of tea partygoers it cannot be assumed she reigns supreme. A canvass of delegates to the Tea Party Patriots convention in Richmond over the weekend put her in shock second position for their choice for president in 2012..."

Looks like the Queen has been deposed. Could the party be seeking a bus under which to throw her? Are they recognising the liability she represents? Does anyone care?

ROTFLOL...
Palin polled 13.5% of the votes and was pipped to the post by Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey, on 14%.
2nd Place amongst Tea Partiers 2-years from the election by a HALF PERCENT to a NJ Governor who has been kicking ass in a state mishandled by Dems for generations. Pretty damn good position if you ask me.

Perhaps you misunderstood the word "Pipped". Not "piped". LOL...

This is a bunch "Bovine Scatology", at this point coming from an ultra liberal source at a time when it is meaningless SHTUFF.

But Liberals need to make a big deal out of anything that takes focus off of the real story if the day.

That being Obama is lower in the polls almost daily,Nancy Pelosi keeps losing Democrats on tax cuts - Jonathan Allen - POLITICO.com, Harry Reid on the Attack, but Still Lags Sharron Angle in Polls - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

Now that's news stories.

I love it when Libs post these stories. They make me howl. Half my time on DP is in the search for laughs like this OP. This place has great entertainment, but not half as funny as democraticunderground. Funny name for the place as I've been banned twice there for posing as a Bluedog Hillary supporter. Perhaps the third time will be a charm.

so what will life be like for you when no assistance programs are available? can you live without social security, medicare or medicaid?

You can pay for them yourself. You do anyway. How's that? Manage your own money and life, and if you can't... then pay for a little assistance, or do some research on the web.

It's not rocket science you know... a little discipline. I make "X", and "Y" goes to rent, and "Z" goes to insurance (or your company pays for it), and "A" goes to retirement fund (investments). What remains is for living. Not too complex. No need for the most bloated, inefficient, wasteful enterprise to force it on the masses because you're too lazy or undisciplined.

Then there's charity; with less taxes folks give more, and private institutions are far more effective than government at administering aid.

.

Yeah right! The Bridge to nowhere comes to mind.

Were any of those bridges ever built? I happen to manage an ear-mark for a project in Chicago? Would you like to know the names of the elected officials who supported that?

so what will life be like for you when no assistance programs are available? can you live without social security, medicare or medicaid?

Those things will still be there for me when needed. No one is trying to do away with them any time soon. We need to start doing something now, for future generations though.
I forget who one Rep. was, but he wanted to raise the retirement age for those under 40, and give them the choice of paying into SS or paying into a private plan. Someone else wanted to raise the retirement age for those under 55.
We all know something needs to be done to save the programs or eventually do away with them. The important word is "eventually.".
I love how the MSM lies about candidates who want to fix the problems by saying they are going to take away those programs. Talk about fearmongering.
No one has advocated doing without a long term plan to protect people.
Yes, some candidates think they never should have been implimented in the first place, but they were. You can't just do away with them now.
I doubt you can find anyone who says he will. You are just trying to scare granny.

so what will life be like for you when no assistance programs are available? can you live without social security, medicare or medicaid?

Yes.

What does that have to do with Sarah Palin?
