(CNN)Sen. Bernie Sanders on Sunday said it's urgent that Democrats work toward an infrastructure package with a larger price tag that addresses climate change and other related issues.
"I sometimes think we get boggled down in numbers and that's important, but we've got to look at what the needs are of the American people, what's going on right now," Sanders, a Vermont independent senator who caucuses with the Democrats and chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, told CNN's Dana Bash on "State of the Union."
The comments from Sanders come as Democrats eye a bipartisan track and budget reconciliation track in negotiations over President Joe Biden's bipartisan infrastructure proposal.
Asked if he had Biden's blessing to push a separate $6 trillion reconciliation plan, Sanders said the President provided a "serious and comprehensive blueprint."

I don’t think there’s anything insane about it. We are still collecting the benefits from infrastructure built during thevNew Deal.

The GOP hasn’t been interested in doing anything about the serious long term underfunding of maintenance and ipgrad of infrastructure in the last 30 years. the last time the gas tax went up was 28 years ago.

Part of Bernie’s mission is to ask for more than he knows he’s going to ge.

Yet another utterance devoid of substance from the Right, today more accurately termed the "white Right".

Of course the country is still using facilities constructed by the WPA (New Deal). Our infrastructure is 2nd-world at this point. Socially we're circling the drain compared to the more advanced demosocialist nations.

Retrograde corporate-hegemonistic neo-feudalist GOP policies only make things worse.

Oh sure, someone is pulling Biden's strings. I think it's Hugo Chávez, or perhaps Saul Alinsky!

Or maybe it's just Hillary and Obama from their Communist bunker.

Well, is he communistic or socialistic? I suspect you can define neither term.

Demosocialism: Germany, Denmark, UK, France, Japan, Israel, NZ, Canada, etc.
Communism: USSR, the former China, N. Korea, Cuba

See the difference? The USA is in neither camp, being a 2nd-world backwards craphole hamstrung by Reaganomics.

Why is it insanity? We need to upkeep public assets. You pay for it one way or the other.

Moreover, I heard the $6 trillion price tag but I don’t know if that is over ten years, which is typical. $600 million a year is quite sane.
 
If The Bern wants to spend more, he can ****ing pay for it.

Otherwise, he can go pound sand.
