Sanders leaves dem party

Democrat Socialists.....I can live with that. :)

I can too, in fact I think a lot of Democrats are, Sanders proved that. Although the term "Socialist" has really been obscured these days.

If we took Trump out of the equation, still had everyone vote in the general election, and it was Sanders vs Hillary I honestly think Sanders would win.

Yup. He ran as a Democrat simply because you don't have a prayer of getting elected unless you have the packing of one of the two major parties - which is wrong beyond words but that's another story.

If I was HRC I'd be doing a lot of soul searching over the fact that Bernie, who isn't a democrat, did so well against me. But then I can, once in a great while, actually muster up some introspection. Not sure that she can.

It's my understanding that he was never a member of the Democratic Party. He ran on the Dem. ticket, however, probably with their approval, since he caucuses with them. That's my understanding.

Bernie Sanders is nothing but a 100% political whore. Shame.

First he sells out and endorses the candidate he'd been absolutely railing on for a year. Then he goes on damage control and pretty much picks "whichever party will get him re-elected." He might as well put up a poll on this website. "What party should I be, to get you to vote for me? Majority vote is what party I'll choose!"

....whore.

he won't do that. a Senate with Hillary as president is one where he might matter. A senate with Trump as president is going to be one where Sanders views aren't going to go very far (though perhaps you could claim that if Sanders does screw Cankles over, Trump's gonna reward him handsomely )

sanders already did screw her with one demographic. The youth vote is gonna turn out even less than usual after putting all their hopes into sanders. I estimate there's at least 2 million votes from the under 30 who voted for obama but will not for hillary. Not saying she would've gotten all those votes, but had she run basically unopposed, a huge # of them

same as if she had beaten out obama in 2008 due to super-delegate shenanigans. She would've lost to mccain i have no doubt

and there's nothin sanders can do about it to be rewarded by either hillary or trump. All he can do is make pathetic sell out speeches like he just did, and lose any dignity from his "movement"

Because party loyalty is more important than loyalty to the country.

Now he needs to declare his Presidential bid as an Independent and screw Clinton royally! ;)

Lieberman did that and we ended up with Bush. Gore's would've been a boring and less eventful Presidency; instead we got a pointless war in Iraq, ignored the real war in Afghanistan, an unfunded medicare bill, and two massive bubbles which splattered economies around the world.

The result would be worse this time around.

Actually, Sanders never railed against Clinton personally. He and Clinton BOTH ran fairly positive campaigns and didn't get down in the dirt with each other. They even acknowledged each other's valid positions on occasion. As opposed to the Republicans.

Sanders knew what his supporters apparently did not: He was never going to get the nomination. He knew it. His point in running was to steer the Dem. Party to the left and toward certain positions and goals. He succeeded. Clinton has acknowledged and incorporated some of Sanders' positions in her positions and goals.

(Sanders' second goal was money. He will probably succeed in that beyond his wildest dreams. He is sure to command high speaking fees from now on. He may even get a gig as a political consultant on tv...big bucks there.)

I'm not saying he shouldn't have screwed her chances at being the bland centrist she always has once in politics, but she will still be worthless to the young would-be voters i mentioned. Her top donors are banks i mean, let's not act like she's an avowed socialist like Sanders. At most, i could see her tackling for profit health care yet again, but she had done that already as first lady
