I have no doubt that one day all states will unfortunately not protect traditional marriage and vote to let any two living creatures marry including dogs, cats and elephants.

I also have no doubt one day, child pornography will be legalized.... Incest will be legalized…. I have no doubt that prostitution will be legalized and brothels will open up all over in areas that today they are restricted. Maybe next to your house Kelzie. I believe that bestiality will be legalized and there will be clinics where you can drop off a loved one to be put to sleep….. I believe one day you will be FORCED to accept a lot of things that you believe in your heart to be wrong or be jailed. I also believe freedom of speech will end. You talk bad about homosexuals….you get fined or jailed. I believe you will not be able to even buy a Bible that it will be banned….worshipping god will be outlawed.

I think everything good and moral will be criminalized.

Oh I think we are headed for disaster, obviously you do not. You are obviously very young and have many more years than I have at 50…….good luck, you will need it. And obviously you are one who doesn’t see any wisdom or value to the elderly. So sad.

Riigghhhhtt....Since most of this is absolute rubish, I will respond to the end. I find plenty of wisdom and value to the elderly. When my grandfather tells me my black boyfriend can't come to the family dinner cause he's not good enough, I listen. It's his house after all. But I realize that thankfully, as a society, we've move beyond that antiquated way of thinking. The same will happen with gay marriage. As liberal as I can be on occassion, I still hold the opinion that the optimum situation is one man and one woman marrying and staying together to raise their kids. That's how it USED to be.

But it is hard to use the "sanctity of marriage" defense when no one is trying to get a constitutional amendment against divorce.

The "polygamy/beastiality" is the simply argument of fools.:rofl

Today's society consists of families in all shapes, forms and sizes. That really upsets those who have a longing for the good ol' days. But it is what it is. Those people will soon be gone and a much smarter and wiser generation will replace ours much like we replaced the generation before us.

Change takes time. Be patient America. I might remind you that it wasn't that long ago, relatively, that women weren't allowed to vote and blacks had to ride in the back of the bus (if they were allowed to ride at all,) marijuana made you rape, steal and plunder, :mrgreen: a man wearing an earing was a flamer and a woman with a tattoo was a bull dyke . The people who supported that mentality are mostly long gone or in a nursing home. In twenty to thirty years, the folks against gay liberation will be just as dead.

For what it's worth Deegan, I used to be a staunch republican as well as the rest of my family. I've only voted for two democrats in my life. One was Feingold and one was Clinton the second time around. I could not bring myself to vote for Kerry or Bush the last time but I actually had a Vote Bush sign in my yard his first time around.

We get wiser as we get older. No shame in that.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your support, and it feels damn good to step away from the norm, and actually think for myself. I feel I am an intelligent person, and knowing this, these folks must be worthy of my vote, or I can't in good conscience give it otherwise.

I am now an independent, and I honestly feel good about this decision.
