This is for whoever it was that said that Saddam and Iraq never gased their own people and that they would not ever believe it since there were no pictures...I have been lazy finding them, but it sure was super duper easy...

I am not sure why anybody would have disputed this in the first place, and I wish that I remembered who, for I am sure that they will simply not respond and hide like a chicken.

I found this statement quite interesting from one of Bodi's sources...
A UN security council statement condemning Iraq's use of chemical weapons in the war was issued in 1986, but the US and other western governments continued supporting Baghdad militarily and politically into the closing stages of the war.
...I never could understand why people feel the need to misrepresent the truth just to promote their own personal agenda. In this case, the inference that I am defending Hussein in reference to gassing the Kurds. All I am stating is that there are reports out there that indicate it could have been Iranian gas that killed the Kurds during Iraq's border war with Iran. It should also be noted at the investigation methods that are used.

The circumstances under which a medical scientist must perform an investigation are usually far from ideal, and important evidence is unavailable. Many sites where chemical attacks are alleged to have occurred are either in remote areas that are difficult to access or in territories held by belligerents who refuse access. Diagnostic medical facilities often are lacking. Investigations are difficult to organize and typically take place weeks or months after the alleged attacks. Fresh injuries undergo healing and memories begin to fade. Chemicals in samples, when available, break down.

Consequently, many investigations rely heavily on the testimony of people. Those interviewed may include persons with injuries alleged to have been caused by chemical weapons, eyewitnesses, family members, soldiers, civilians, health care personnel, or any other person in the region where the incident might have occurred. Medical scientists who collect such testimony can use their knowledge of clinical medicine and toxicology to help direct the questioning and organize the information.

A factor that must be assessed, however, is the validity of such information. Secondary political gain can be a motivating force for false allegations. The chaos of wartime conditions, the juxtaposition of high-technology military hardware and a low-technology culture, and existing endemic disease can provide fertile ground for rumors of chemical warfare. Medical scientists must be able to address this issue in their investigations. To ignore validity constitutes the abandonment of scientific objectivity and undermines the ability to clarify the allegations of interest.

The only evidence against Hussein in regards to this topic is the eyewitness accounts of survivors being interviewed as they came into Jordan. Think about this, if they had written down what they saw, and sent that testimony into a news outlet, which then posted it on their website, it would be considered an OP-ED that many on this board refuse to treat as hardcore news.

I could care less whether he did or didn't, but I do care when people lie about what I have said.

The U.S. Army War College and the DIA concluded it was Iran that gassed the kurds.

Yes I would also like to see proof that Iran gassed the Kurds.
