From what I gathered on Sunday TV news Show Russia wants better tank country for fighting like ag land and small towns so that there are fewer hiding places for INLAW and Stingers up close.
Does this mean Uks will stand back 1500 meters or more and use Javelins? What can they use in place of stingers?

Actually, the reverse.

One of the advantages of soldiers with hand held weapons is that they can hide behind almost anything. A small rise or depression in the terrain, behind a clump of brush or trees, a knee high field, almost anything. The only thing they need is a clear area behind them for when they fire. Small towns and agricultural land actually gives them even more places to hide and fire from. As towns are actually not very good because of backblast.

Whoever did that report likely knows nothing about how such operate. Of course, most not in the military have absolutely no concept of what "backblast" is.

I still laugh every time I remember the second Rambo movie. Where he destroyed a helicopter with an M72 LAW from the front of a helicopter. Where in reality, if he had done that he would have killed himself, and every single POW he was sent to recover.

What's even better is how it changes from a LAW to an RPG for a split second at 1:35
